A live, improvised sound collage experiment, going back 28 years, weaving mesmerizing new soundscapes from found and collected materials right in the present moment.
Pop music, speeches, live phone calls and spontaneous monologues become ambient loopy layered threads riding the liminal spaces between waking and dreaming. [On hiatus.] (Visit homepage.)

How do you do, fellow kids?
Avatar 5:01pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Is it OK to say?
Avatar 5:03pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Usually I just say, OK, how are you? And people actually accept that and talk about how they are. Sometimes I literally just reply with How are you and skip the OK.
Avatar 5:05pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

These are being played from the just-released second-ever Ken's Last Ever MP3 DVD, with 42 hours of shows packed on to it.
Avatar 5:10pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Sharon Stone talking to Garry Shandling
Avatar 5:13pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Everyone was laying around on pillows. I think there was a fireplace. Someone was playing the original piano piece on the stereo right before the show, so I looped it throughout.
Avatar 5:25pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Next: Mysteries Going On All The Time (keep doing those things)
Avatar 5:28pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar 5:45pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I just watched Buffalo '66, got me thinking about parents and Buffalo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 6:21pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Last show of the whole tour. This one felt freeing and festive.
Avatar 6:22pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I only did one show after this (a year later), and waited another year after that to resume shows. So, this was the Last Ever of its time.
Avatar 6:23pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I am about to do a bunch of new shows this summer.
Avatar 6:28pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I've never been on a date, but I'm going to try to like the bartender, I'm going to try to entertain you in between your dates. You just finished the first date. It was really great. And I don't want you to forget about it. But I want you to feel OK on the way to your next one. I've actually been on that date that you're about to go on. That date is going to look at you. That date is going to look you right in the eye. You're going to want to get closer to that date. You might remember that the device in your pocket has a power button, and you might turn it off during your next date.
Avatar 6:29pm northguineahills:

I don't think I ever went on a date w/ my wife. Met her djing in Mexico. Kept in touch online. Visited each other a few times, then she moved in w/ me in Brooklyn to go to grad school. Although, now, we joke we remotely watch movies together, me in FL, her in NYC, that it's a date night.
Avatar 6:30pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It might turn out that this thing that you're on now, this thing that isn't a date, you might start to miss it later. You might start to appreciate things about it. It might turn on ideas in your head. Maybe tomorrow, during tomorrow's date, you're going to go to the bathroom, and you're just going to sit there, and you're going to think, wait, maybe entirely different things are possible. Maybe something else completely different. Something that doesn't have a shape. A format that you can't name. You don't have to stay on the page. You can go right off. You can do it tomorrow, you can do it on your next date, you can do it right now. You can just do it right now.
Avatar 6:31pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

ngh knows Other Shapes are Possible
Avatar 6:34pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

We recognize no authority save that within ourselves.
Avatar 6:34pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

He is at peace with himself because he tried society's way.
Avatar 6:35pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Each of these is an answer for somebody.
Avatar 6:35pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I will not put them down for that!
Avatar 6:36pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Nothing can hurt, if you do not see it as hurtful. Nothing can destroy, if you do not see it as being destructive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm coelacanth∅:

i like being awakened just before the shit hits the fan, as it inevitably does.
Avatar 6:42pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

If you don't wake up, the shit does hit the fan.
Avatar 6:42pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It's just a dream, and I like being woken up from dreams, because I can reflect on having had them. Otherwise I'd be really annoyed if someone started talking to me in my dream. You don't have to be awake when you're awake. You really don't have to stick to these roles at all. Maybe you already know this, but I'm giving you external validation. You don't have to stick to these roles at all. You might be afraid of what happens, what you think might happen. You're just a very creative being. You have a lot of imagination. You could create positive situations in your mind, positive situations that are going to come to you. You make some choices. Maybe you were rewarded when you were a child for making choices that reflected that you were afraid to do it differently, and so you create these situations in your mind that reflect that you're afraid to do it differently. But you can create different situations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm coelacanth∅:

last night my car was rolling backward down a hill and my brakes wouldn't stop it. i don't know what was at the bottom and don't know what happened after i awakened. maybe i got killed.
Avatar 6:44pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Someone really should fix dream car brakes.
Avatar 6:46pm northguineahills:

Two months ago, I was going to my friend's show/party on my bike. One of the brake cables snapped on the way there. No biggy, I still have one brake. On the way home at 3am, the other brake snapped, I was going downhill head towards an intersection, and had to jump tuck and roll in the grass, and somehow managed not to really hurt myself (a miracle actually, as I hurt myself all the time doing mundane things all the time).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm coelacanth∅:

sorry, but if it's barry gibbs' voice i hear i must choose to not only not hold onto it but try to remove myself from it!
Avatar 6:46pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

ngh: Your reality is better than our dreams
Avatar 6:46pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Let's play "dream or reality."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm coelacanth∅:

ngh that's crazy! ...and good you're okay
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm coelacanth∅:

(my dream was instigated by my failing car brakes in my non-dream car)
Avatar 6:50pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Braken dreams
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm coelacanth∅:

thank you i feel better about
Avatar 6:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

You don't have to finish your sentences. You don't have to finish your thoughts. You can speak in beautiful fragments. You can let go, as soon as you, you don't... It's OK, you can quote others. You don't have to create everything from whole cloth. You can weave a tapestry of everything that you've seen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm coelacanth∅:

i'm glad to've heard Leonard Nimoy's voice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar 6:56pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

How can that dog be running under that shady tree where we buried him years ago (ghost of a dog...)
Avatar 6:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I'm glad some of the folks in this show are still alive presently
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm coelacanth∅:

i love that album. i'm working on a version of 10,000 angels
Avatar 6:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):
