You've succeeded in putting a dent in my dislike of the Dead.

It's never too late...

It's mostly inspired by the hippies in this damn town in the 90s

Avatar 12:53am
Jeff Conklin:

Understood, phat. My whole thing is separating the music from the bullshit and putting the Dead in a different context. I think it works...

big richard thompson fan and also gerry rafferty!

Damn! Jeff got me listening to and liking the Dead. Now he has me enjoying Richard and Linda(and I will refrain from the Twin Peaks reference) . I have to ask....what's next?
Avatar 12:57am
Jeff Conklin:

What could anyone have against Richard and Linda??
  12:57am
phat:

The guitarist in one of my old bands was always able to do that. I think I had to deal with the fandom more than he did. Context is surprisingly important.

It's a new day, my brothers and sisters

Noting against Richard and Linda at all - I somehow neglected them most of my life..... I greatly appreciate hearing them here.

This version is like a religious experience

The Thompson's played Boston, the one I saw, the night after this Bottom Line gig. Listening to them back to back one can understand how the Boston gig seems so understated. They left it all in NYC. Unbelievable.

Goyim in the AM:

I heard an interview on German radio with M.A.L. recently, in which he also claimed credit for Reeves Gabrels and Robert Fripp's time with Bowie. Terrific player, but a bit of a jealous crank, I think.
