Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10am

It must be awful strange to be "beginning work" at this hour. Not to mention the next guy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16am

I did..at the Paradise in Boston. Still have the cassette.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17am

If there's a future for rock music, these guys are it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am
pacific standard simon:

I'm old-fashioned; "rock music", to me, involves the prominent use of the bass drum...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am

Then again, there's VU, so what do I know.

Jeff Conklin:

Don't project your canned feeling on us all, simon ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56am
pacific standard simon:

Ha ha -- you got me. Canned Heat was a band that I was very conflicted about.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am

Pretty much always liked The Youngbloods, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59am

'twould have been awesome if the 'bloods had ever backed up Tim Buckley.

I still can sing the KFWB jingle from my days. "K-F-W-B... channel 98!" Not very hip.

The McDonald's at the corner of Haight Street and Stanyan, across the street from Golden Gate Park, has shut down. City wants the property for "cheap" housing.

My former spouse seriously upset her boyfriend before me by hearing "I'll take my chances on the wall of death," as, "I'll take my chances on the waterbed." Quite the Thompson fan, I take it.

That tape flip/cut kills me but whatre ya gonna do
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13am
pacific standard simon:

I had a tape flip like that on my Television at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco tape, until it was officially released by Elektra/Rhino. So sometimes miracles happen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19am
pacific standard simon:

Right in the middle of "Marquee Moon", by the way. Very annoying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32am
pacific standard simon:

Re: Crooked Weather and such -- I have a thing for bands with male/female harmonizing. Jefferson Airplane, Amon Duul II, etc.
  2:37am
dug:

sometimes those tape flips get so burned into your mind that every time you hear that album/bootleg without the flip you chuckle and it brings you back to where you were when you had to deal with the flip.

Jethro Tull did indeed do a "Song for Jeffrey." It was on their first album, "This Was."
