I have a noise record that I like equally at 45 and 33. The label and jacket offer no clue, so I go according to my mood

Aaron Working In Newark:

Great show this morning Nate.
Avatar 7:41am
Linda Lee:

@fred ~ that's lovely! great reason to use vinyl instead of digital, really. if i had big bucks i'd make a bunch of those.
Avatar 7:42am

more challenging than you'd think, i bet.
Avatar 7:43am

Hello Scraps. I missed Mayuko's show yesterday, went to see my favorite singer. I could have got back in time for the 4th quarter, but instead I waited to get her to sign a record. She did, and her giggling at seeing it was worth the wait (it's a touristy thing I got at one of her shows 6 years ago)
Avatar 7:48am
Scraps ((((§)))):

If you want to, you can speed up or slow down digitally, much more than simply 45 or 33 1/3.
Avatar 7:49am
Scraps ((((§)))):

fred, I missed Mayuko’s show too, with not such a good reason, either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50am

@Scraps: nothing health-related, I hope

Avatar 7:53am

@Scraps ~ sure. that goes without saying. i like the tactile vinyl thing. always have. my idea makes it performative, too. immediate. that's the fun part.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am
fred:

@Scraps: I hope you recover as fully as possible, and soon. We need you around here, radio family
Avatar 7:54am

Avatar 8:05am
Linda Lee:

was that lyric 'if you can't find a woman to dance with, grab another man'? no? too bad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05am
fred:

@Linda Lee: Even if they don't, they could still be interested in hearing from you, if what they do is relevant to your projects. They're open minded
Avatar 8:06am
Linda Lee:

fantastic! thanks for the link! :-)
Avatar 8:07am
Linda Lee:

i did look into 3D printing for vinyl music discs .. as of now the discs produced will kill a conventional stylus.
Avatar 8:09am
Linda Lee:

my gosh who's playing that slide guitar on the 'the holy spirit'? they're possessed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17am
fred:

@Linda Lee: Yann Leguay has done some nice stuff with vinyl, like putting a blank one with a blade on the cell cutting a path ahead
Avatar 8:17am
Linda Lee:

oh my!
Avatar 8:18am
Linda Lee:

what's creating the groove formation?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19am
fred:

@Linda Lee: I only saw/heard the thing, you'll have to ask him about the tricks involved
Avatar 8:20am
Linda Lee:

there's video, i'll look.
thanks!
Avatar 8:21am
Linda Lee:

wondering if this is basically like wax cylinder technology, where the mic'ed sound is directly driven into the material? assume so! unless there isn't any sound :-)
Avatar 8:22am
Linda Lee:

really excited about that place where the material & the sonic get together, .. which is vibrational.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am
fred:

@Linda Lee: that's pretty much where Art Kill Art is. I think you speak their language, so they'd probably be interested in what you're doing
Avatar 8:27am
Linda Lee:

cool. love a nice recommend! thanks again!

My friend Alex used to babysit his nieces. The girls became fond of Young Marble Giants which, for some reason, they insisted was Mickey Mouse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54am

I don't know how he pulled it off, but your friend Alex did a great thing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57am
