Good morning Nate and pyromaniacs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06am
Nate K.:

Hey, Tom, Fred, Scraps, and all of those who have yet to appear.
Avatar 6:07am
Scraps deSelby:

This is my favorite six hours of WFMU. Here in Snohomish County, Wash., 3AM to 9 AM Sunday morning, Burn It Down followed by switching to Drummer stream and Destination: Out.

I’m ready! Settling in.... yeah.

scotty c from tennessee:

Morning, Nate!

Morning Nate!

Yo La Tengo new album named after the best Sly & the Family Stone album? Awesome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14am
Nate K.:

Hey, Scotty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16am
Nate K.:

Scraps, I will try not to disappoint. And, indeed, YLT tips the cap to Sly but uses "going" not "goin'."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17am
Nate K.:

Hey, Scotty. Nice hearing from you. Hey, Warren.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24am
Nate K.:

Hoping to do a less-talk-more-rock show today, given how much talk you all had to recently withstand.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24am
Sem:

Light it up! Good morning, Nate, and Burners.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34am
Nate K.:

Confirmed: Wooing are indeed from NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34am
fred:

Nate, do you have any info about how dire the situation is with the station falling 20% from its goal?
Avatar 6:35am
Gekko Hopman:

Bonjour Nate.
En Attendant Ana new lp is due soon. You can find a video of their track: The Violence Inside on the Internet.
Cheers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35am
ultradamno:

Now I want a Sly album called "I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37am
fred:

@Gekko Hopman: do you have a link to that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40am
Nate K.:

@Gekko, what Fred said. Is there a link?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40am
Nate K.:

@Ultra, it's only logical.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43am
ultradamno:

www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43am
fred:

Maybe it should be "I'm not afraid of you and I'll beat your ass". More apostrophes, yet still Ike-compatible
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48am
Nate K.:

@Fred, yes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55am
fred:

I'm still confused about what should be capitalized in titles. Does anyone have a reference for that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58am
Sem:

@fred: it is safe to say do not capitalize articles, prepositions, or coordinating conjunctions.
Avatar 7:00am
Scraps deSelby:

Chicago Third and Words Into Type differ a little bit, fred. I’m not in my office (next door), but I’ll try to come up with the basic paragraph from Chicago....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00am
ultradamno:

I usually capitalize everything because I don't discriminate. But this should help: www.grammarbook.com...
Avatar 7:02am
Scraps deSelby:

Sem is right, but you cap any words over four letters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04am
Sem:

...yes, Scraps, I can see that, if only for the aesthetics of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04am
tom from Glasgow:

"it varies immensely" is the best answer
Avatar 7:06am
Scraps deSelby:

That’s just English, by the way. French has different systems, and German differs from both of them. Etc.
Avatar 7:12am
Scraps deSelby:

French essentially doesn’t capitalize any words in a title except the first and any words that are capitalized anyway (proper nouns, etc), and English recognizes this, so a French title surrounded by English still uses the French rules.
Avatar 7:13am
Scraps deSelby:

Sem, yep, it’s pretty much all aesthetics, when you get down to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16am
fred:

Thanks Ultradamno, that was helpful. I have that weird thing about being correct in English since I gave up on French. It's also a reaction to how French people at work "correct" native English speakers. I know I get things wrong, but trying to correct something and still be wrong would defeat my purpose
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25am
Nate K.:

Hi, guys. I could talk all day about caps in titles. I try to stick to Chicago (CMS) rules, but I also let the auto-fill do it's thing as I'm so busy trying to play records. I don't apply the same rigor to the playlist as I do my, er, job. But I try!
Avatar 7:26am
Gekko Hopman:

Aw sorry we were strolling down to the market (yes we do that in Rouen, France and we can drink white wine because it's midday here, anyway) so thank you @ultradamno that's the thing. There's a release party soon in Paris, and then I'm coming to NYC so @nate if you want me to bring you a copy just say it.
Avatar 7:29am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30am
tom from Glasgow:

in UK tv subtitling, We Cap Every Word In A Title, Even Tiny Words
Avatar 7:30am
Gekko Hopman:

@fred sprry to hear about bad manners from French people, AGAIN. We should work together so you'd see not all of us are like that. I'm sure your French is great (and better than my English anyway)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31am
tom from Glasgow:

as a result, on the internet i tend not to use any capitals except for proper nouns
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am
ultradamno:

I looked up pictures of Amyl & The Sniffers and was surprised that she's a full grown adult.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am
ultradamno:

I was expecting something like Pretty Little Demons.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41am
fred:

@Gekko Hopman: I'm French, so I'm as bad at French as you would expect. How come you don't have a heart or radio next to your name? If you pledged, get in touch with Joe to fix that. If you didn't pledge, please do so and help disprove that we French are freeloaders
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47am
Nate K.:

@gekko, that would be swell.
  7:49am
medson:

Good morning Nate/Everyone.
Avatar 7:52am
Aaron Working In Newark:

whats up Meds?
  7:56am
medson:

@aaron not much. Slept in a bit which is rare. How are you doing?
Avatar 8:00am
Gekko Hopman:

@nate I'll keep you informed !
Avatar 8:02am
TDK60:

Morning. I think English (UK) song titles only use caps in first word, rest lower case but this is often, not always. [?]
  8:05am
Peter from Dover NJ:

Checking in late, but I've. been listening for a while. Keep it burning Nate.
Avatar 8:09am

Just went and glanced briefly in Wire and Robyn Hitchcock discographies: I'm wrong, there at least.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15am
tom from Glasgow:

ahhh this is a lovely record
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16am

Lots of weird auto fills when doing the playlist. Tons of all lowercase titles and artists
Avatar 8:18am

Great Smog track I'd never heard. Looks like they're not on Spotify at all?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26am
tom from Glasgow:

nah, virtually nothing on Drag City is
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26am
tom from Glasgow:

they have an extensive Bandcamp page tho, iirc
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29am
medson:

Isn't Spotify struggling to pay artists?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29am
Brian in UK:

Hello Nate and snoozers, this talk is a bit technical for a Sunday morning. What happened to food and beer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30am
Brian in UK:

@medson struggling to pay them properly?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31am
medson:

Struggling to pay the agreed upon amount
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am
Brian in UK:

Noooo, agents, managers and other music business scumbags would never have done that in the past.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39am
tom from Glasgow:

i've made $70 in streaming royalties in 9 years, if that's any indication
Avatar 8:50am
TDK60:

Great track this; gives me the nostalgias.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54am
medson:

Anyone else hear Dave Edmunds here? love it
Avatar 8:55am
TDK60:

That's a similar sound Medson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57am

love to hear that crackle
