No, what I suggest is that AAC handles quick impulses (like vinyl ticks and pops especially) better in that it passes them through closer to unchanged, which allows our ear/brain system to recognize them as something other than the music and tune them out somewhat.
What MP3 seems to me to do is turn a quick sharp tick into a slightly lower amplitude but longer and messier sound which gets mixed in with the music more.
