@LCBD I was just there! Every year my girlfriend gets a giftcard there from my folks, so we usually make the pilgrimage shortly after Christmas (as well as several other times a year). I'm not a knitter myself, but I do enjoy wandering the aisles touching things :)

I'm reading a playwrights guidebook right now since im in the midst of writing a play, but the novel im cheating on with the guidebook is Robert Coover's Huck Out West, which is supposed to be about Huck Finn as an adult, but it's really about some dark n'gritty dude who bears little resemblance to the original character (he shoots a guy, for fuck's sake). Kind of like Luke Skywalker in the Last Jedi.

Reading "arbitrary stupid goal" by Tamara shopsin. I've never even eaten at shopsin's(and not sure if I want to deal with it). This is both a funny and serious book. ($1 at thrift shop!). Then will skim thru Simon Doonan's "extreme glamour" for he's gayly funny, and wanna start the new Sal Maida book (I bought bec of Todd's recent interview on wfmu).

My current reading, since that seems to be what we're chatting about, is My Hundred Lovers by Australian writer Susan Johnson, which is very good, and next will be The Power by Naomi Alderman, a novel about a world in which roles are reversed and women have, well, the power.
