What's even sweeter about that album that my favorite drag queen, who fancies himself the 6th Spice Girl, turned me on to it. In her boy waiter persona, he used to run "Maybe" all the time on video where he worked. The video for Maybe is amazing, too!

I think it's something to do with how rhythmic it is, with the single versus double length vowel sounds and chiisai tsu's and whatnot. This is a big issue to me as a fan of Dust To Digital. There won't be such a labor of love fifty years from now, because there's no such thing as digital dust

In my parent's house, they still have this big boom box that had dual tape decks, so you could copy tapes. Also had the ability to record off the radio. I remember using it to make my own mix from some tapes I had.

Last week I found the 3rd out of 4 pressings of the Village Green album that contain 12 tracks (in stead off the regular 15): a repro of the New Zealand pressing. Already had the original Norwegian and French one. Only need the Italian pressing now, but that one doesn't have a repro, so that remains in impossible goal (two copies were offered during the last record fair in Utrecht for amounts with 4 digits!)

Completely the opposite motivation. @Brian Cat: I forget which station it is, but one in the Philly/NJ area broadcasts the DJ Jerry Blavat (I know he airs on WXPN, but I think there's also local one that airs a longer show). He was a DJ in the 60s era and his shows have been awesome to listen to. He did one show full of call/response songs. So the song "Duke Of Earl" by Gene Chandler followed by "Duchess of Earl" by the Pearlettes.
