Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from November 10, 2017 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Marsalis has said a few disparaging things about freer jazz in the past, and has been know to be a taskmaster w/ his groups.

Avatar 10:17am

Cumbia rebajada started sort of like dj screw's cut and screwed hiphop mixes. In the early 80s, there was a cumbia outdoor party at the market in Monterrey, Mexico. The generators started to die and the turntables started to slow down. Cough syrup was the drug of choice, so the audience loved it. So first, rebajada mixes were made, then bands started making the music like that on purpose.

i smoke an average of maybe 3 cigarettes/year. what the typical american eats in 3 days harms them more than my 3 ciggies/year.
- i keep meaning to smoke more herb though. maybe this weekend.

Anybody been to IMDb lately? I went to check something (Tiffany's related) and for the second time in a couple days the Eggo waffle awful FACE WHAM takeover of the page layout was startling and repellent. The first time, I initally closed it in the moment it took to load because I thought I'd taken a wrong turn.

I had a check engine light on fora couple months - usually just means a minor emissions system problem - tho my starter went out the other day

Smoking is still legal at bars down here if you get a permit. Thankfully, there are not many.

@ Doug, I'm always a sucker for an instrument that's as big or bigger than the player using it (used to love seeing my daughter play bass clarinet in the school band, was sorry when she gave it up-punk guitar was more her style).

mechanics always don't reset it for me, saying it doesn't matter because my car's too old to need to pass emissions tests in new york; but maybe it would actually tell me that there was a problem, if it was not always on.

coel -- Separate ad graphics overkill on the movie site. Although going back to the same page, I got different big ad whack. Awful waffle attack must be in rotation. I hope some algorithm or tracking hasn't targeted me for conversion/indoctrination.

Mott is actually a verb roughly meaning "to manhandle"

Mott the Hoople was a novel. The character was named Mott and he was a "hoople" or a good for nothing, a bum if you will.
