June 29, 2017: Free Outdoor Summer Music 2017
For years I have been putting a list together of the best shows in the NY/NJ metropolitan area that I want to go to. My favorites are ones I can ride a bicycle to, esp via ferry across the Hudson River. This year's list has 25 shows and I will only get to a fraction of them. See you there!

	3:15pm Dean: NRBQ is playing tonight in Winters, CA, just a few miles west of Sacramento and Davis. The venue is a tiny so-called opera house.

	3:23pm Dean: Would love to, geezerette, but no. Not this week. I was poking around the opera house calendar a week or so ago to see if, e.g., Jimmy LaFave--who was slated to play the Kate Wolf Festival this year--might swing by Winters again. Saw him there a couple years ago. But when I viewed the KWF site I learned he had joined the dearly departed. Really saddens me. He was terrific. Small consolation: a ton of videos of Jimmy are showing up on YT.

	3:45pm still b/p: Can never keep a straight recollection of who was with SJ and the AJ when I saw them on Cape Cod in '78. It was Charlie Daniels Band?...the Cars? Just looked at a source that says it was all three, one bill!
	3:48pm Mark R: Dr. Jazz, you're correct about Jesse Ed in that early Taj Mahal group, that was a fine band with Chuck Blackwell on drums, too. And we certainly don't need to rehash Jesse Ed's own resume after that. A very good guitarist, loved his slide playing..
