Amanda Nazario:

Good morning to all! @James, I'm glad you asked - they are babies of an African pig called Red River Hog.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am
Uncle Michael:

Going to see the Rubinoos, Amanda?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Oink! Snort! Good morning!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am
Amanda:

I plan to! I hear they are, like, incredible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am
listener james from westwood:

Ahh! Had no idea. Figured tapirs b/c the adult looked snouty. But definitely not snooty.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am
Uncle Michael:

I hope they're even better than that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am
listener james from westwood:

I am happy for gentle sounds this morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27am
Amanda:

Very happy to deliver some, then!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am
Amanda:

I was at the zoo this past weekend and saw some of these guys (not babies, though). There was a tapir, too, but it was not doing anything very interesting.

Come for the gifs, stay for the music.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am
Amanda:

Morning L. Danny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am
listener james from westwood:

A series of FMU folks' event/venue-DJing war stories would be an amazing LCD article, not unlike the DJs'-nightmares article.
  10:38am
steve:

and then he said "you call that a knife..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am
Amanda:

I see you've played knifey-spoony before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am
Amanda:

(Sorry, had to do it)
  10:46am
steve:

I'm actually about to sell the two P5 records I have to Academy but I think I may have have just reconsidered!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am
Little Danny:

I used to DJ soul/funk nights in Austin, TX and can't tell you how many times during some massive James Brown-style stormer people came and asked for something they "could dance to."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am
Amanda:

Do what you gotta... at least, if you give them up, they should fetch some good money. I would think. At this point.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am
Little Danny:

Yeah that P5 sounded so good. Long time no hear
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am
Little Danny:

Oh! Amanda, have you ever played the flip of "Sunshine Girl"? It is incredible too, a sumptious slice of minor-key Curt-Boettcher-ish folk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am
coelacanth∅:

Little D, what do you think those potential dancers were looking for?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am
Amanda:

Yes! I have played it on the show before. Super duper!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am
Little Danny:

@coel: it basically translated as "some music I recognize."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am
coelacanth∅:

(i forget what "what exactly's the matter with me" sounds like. my 45 of eve of destruction is nearly beyond listenable.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am
coelacanth∅:

okay Danny; so you're saying they weren't likely to ever embrace wfmu!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am
Little Danny:

Yeah, not a good fit...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am

i missed the pizzicato 5 whilst relocating, but i wholeheartedly support!

Hi Amanda and friends! Yes, the show's been an excellent soundtrack to the Comey hearing, on mute, w/captions. It's the only way to fly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am
listener james from westwood:

I've been so headfucked by collateral Comey anxiety that I suddenly realize we're in Simpsons Time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am
Doug Schulkind:

Affirmative, Amanda.
  11:24am
sugarwolf:

Hello! My coworker went with her daughter on a school field trip to the zoo last month.
  11:25am
sugarwolf:

She was also showing me pics of her recent school project and I had to point out, uhhh you misspelled "Solor" System
Avatar 11:27am
northguineahills:

The "Simpsons Did It" also applies to real life....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am
Ken From Hyde Park:

For me, the funniest scene in this episode is where Homer is chasing after the casino bus and pulls into a Krusty Burger. After he places his order, all you hear is a roar of static from the speaker.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am
listener james from westwood:

Very easy to ID with that speaker experience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I don't see what's wrong with "Solor." It's a perfectly cromulent word.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am
listener james from westwood:

Doesn't Grampa also buy himself a fez, comprising another quiet Life in Hell ref via Akbar and Jeff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am
listener james from westwood:

Early Frink sighting, or one of the earliest!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am
listener james from westwood:

w00t—Amanda's Simpsons imitations!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am
listener james from westwood:

Homer, the voice of reason in a gambling scenario. Wackiness!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am
listener james from westwood:

Croupier and dealer are both accurate. Also, it allows you to say, a la Grampa, "Missus Croupieeeeeer!" and then fall through a church window.
Avatar 11:48am
northguineahills:

Thanks Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Yesterday being Prince's birthday, I should run over to the Frinkiac and find an image. The Radioactive Man Movie episode ("My eyes! The goggles do nothing!") was on the other night. In a scene where all the nerds dialed each other up to get the scoop, it showed Prince in the middle of the screen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am
Little Danny:

Yep, I'll there at 10pm! Thanks Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am
coelacanth∅:

Thanks Amanda!

good times Amanda
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am

Thanks for listening, everyone!!! I had a blast today!

@LJFW, yes! A very early Frink. He was so boyish in those days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00pm

Thanks a ton, Amanda!
