Hola, Jose! Good afternoon to you and fellow listeners!

  12:03pm Cooh John:

Had this from my grandfather's radio station he worked for. Little Black Egg was a family favorite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Uncle Michael:

Motorgirl rocks!
Avatar 12:04pm Carmichael:

Little Black Egg was the first song I learned on guitar. Heya Joe and various Montes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Happy Loyalty Day, everyone!
  12:06pm KP:

Hola, Joe B!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm nickybones:

Greetings, Joe, from I-10 in west Texas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm coelacanth∅:

was that song about Hobbes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Threemoons:

Woo Hoo! great music to perk me up while I'm chained to my oar
Avatar 12:07pm V Priceless:

Heya JB! I was at the Record Fair Friday nite - spotted "The Great Lost Kinks" LP for $ 125.00! Shoulda raided those cut-out bins back in the day, like you were saying!
Avatar 12:08pm Claw!:

or a young Tony, before he started running with those neighborhood flakes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm coelacanth∅:

hahaha! you're back!
Avatar 12:09pm Bronwyn Bishop:

hey joe and everyone!
Avatar 12:10pm Claw!:

aw, I've missed you, Fish
Avatar 12:10pm Joe B:

hey Bronwyn, how was brian wilson show friday?
Avatar 12:10pm Joe B:

greetings all thanks for tuning in!
Avatar 12:11pm Joe B:

hey VP! i think of that every time i see that LP! did you bring neil Innes to the fair with you?
  12:11pm Amy:

Hey Joe and everyone! I bought the Flywheels' latest based on a song Joe played a couple of weeks ago. They're a new fave.
Avatar 12:13pm Bronwyn Bishop:

wonderful of course! although, brian seemed to be pretty exhausted, but then i don't blame him, its been a long tour. al and blondie seemed extra energetic to make up for it- i even caught al playing leads a couple times! and it was cool to have billy hinsche there as well.
Avatar 12:13pm V Priceless:

@Joe B - ha! In my dreams I did! : )
Avatar 12:18pm Claw!:

can we just take a moment to talk about pugs? why are they a thing? what sadistic asshole thought it would be a good idea to breed them that way? it just seems cruel. they are nice enough dogs, but man, they're always struggling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm coelacanth∅:

Bear! i missed you too. the good times would've been better if you were there.
  12:20pm Amy:

@Claw don't even get me started. Pugs are wonderful sweet dogs who shouldn't exist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Michele:

THIS IS MY JAM! Hi Joe Belock!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm coelacanth∅:

..yeah pug and pekingese live a sinus hell.
Avatar 12:22pm Claw!:

pobrecitos. no dog deserves that shit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm coelacanth∅:

-maybe so they can fit in a smaller box?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Thanks to Michele! You've got hustle, kid.
Avatar 12:24pm Claw!:

a pretty little hatbox
Avatar 12:24pm Claw!:

[wheezing sounds]
Avatar 12:25pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

The Great Lost Kinks album has been selling for about $20-$25 on Ebay lately. Obviously there are some variations (promo copy etc.) but I doubt anyone paid $125 for it at The Record Fair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Michele:

I'm so tired! Record Fair was so freaking fun but it annihilated me. I'm sick in bed today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Same thing happens to me every year post-Marathon. Sending positive vibrations.
Avatar 12:28pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Michele: If only I had drunk that last beer instead of you, you would have been fine today! Oh the guilt! I'll never not drink a beer again!
Avatar 12:29pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

You would have been spared had Belock been around at the time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Don't fret, Todd. We unloaded a dozen un-drank cases off the truck last night.
Avatar 12:30pm V Priceless:

@ Todd-o: seemed kinda high to me too, but I'm not up on my vintage vinyl values. Maybe the 'Circus' mag Lou Reed endorsement has driven up the value over the years? ; )
  12:31pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

Dang, this Molochs tune is aces.
Avatar 12:32pm Joe B:

great lost kinks prices appeared to peak around 15 years ago
  12:34pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

That's when I peaked too, abt 15 years ago
Avatar 12:35pm V Priceless:

hey Joe - I could be mistaken, but I don't think the majority of those Kinks kuts have ever made it onto an official CD comp/reissue yet, have they? Pretty hard to believe in this day and age.
  12:35pm JakeGould:

Hey Joe! Sorry I missed you at the record fair. Was working there on Friday and Saturday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm Threemoons:

Wonderful mellow set. Groovy baby! Yeah, man! I'm gonna go make me a Brandy Alexander and flop about on my scoop-shaped bright plastic chair...oh, wait, shit, I'm at work, let me change that to "I'll keep sitting on my shitty office chair and drink burnt coffee..."
Avatar 12:36pm Joe B:

Hi Jake, yeah missed both days for the first time in a long time if ever
Avatar 12:36pm Joe B:

ha DK. i think me too.
Avatar 12:36pm Joe B:

VP you could be right i'd have to look it up
Avatar 12:38pm Joe B:

happy belated birthday nicky!
Avatar 12:38pm Joe B:

Amy glad you are digging the flywheels, great album!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm nickybones:

Thanks, Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm doctorjazz:

Saw Coltrane's A Love Supreme, think it was $400 (an original Impulse, I'm sure; didn't go home with me).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm coelacanth∅:

Bear! @12.24 there's a good band name in there...Wheezing Hat Box.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm DonJuanTijuana:

@JoeB curious as to your prized finds at the FMU benefit were?
Avatar 12:48pm Claw!:

sounds like they would likely tour with Ned's Atomic Dustbin
Avatar 12:54pm Joe B:

only one bass player though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm coelacanth∅:

well, wheezing hat box has just one bass player, but they do have an asthmatic electric jug player.
Avatar 1:00pm Claw!:

hahaha... sounds about right
Avatar 1:01pm Claw!:

they've never had a single crowd chant for an encore
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm coelacanth∅:

-which was okay with the jug player, who always had an ems team back stage.
Avatar 1:06pm V Priceless:

I think Wellwater Conspiracy covered this too
Avatar 1:06pm Joe B:

they did indeed VP
Avatar 1:06pm Claw!:

the ems guy is like an unofficial band member. like a "fifth Beatle," if you will
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm coelacanth∅:

haha!
...okay i've got to go find food (& do other stuff)
Thanks Joe!
Great to see ya Bear!. hopefully our paths will cross again before another year.
VP! ciao
Avatar 1:11pm Claw!:

Fare the well, sweet Fish. Swim gently. Go in peace.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Mike Sin:

Really enjoying So What? ! Very much looking forward to that Derv Gordon show!
  1:13pm Amy:

That Baby Shakes version of Teenage Kicks was great! And I'm picky about Undertones covers.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Hoboken Jack:

Was just thinking, if my name was Derv, I'd be known on here as Hoboken Derv.
Avatar 1:15pm Carmichael:

Eire Apparent! That's Henry McCullough there on that guitar there.
Avatar 1:16pm Joe B:

and jimi hendrix is on that track as well
Avatar 1:16pm Carmichael:

And since they're Northern Irish, I guess they could be called "British" ...
Avatar 1:16pm Joe B:

jack, that week you should post as that!
  1:17pm eric from lake hiawatha:

Thanks Frank
  1:21pm QR:

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SHOW!!
Avatar 1:21pm northguineahills:

My kind of fiesta!
  1:24pm Sarah:

it's raining in Ottawa
Avatar 1:25pm Lewis:

and in the Twin Cities...
Avatar 1:25pm Joe B:

Sarah, perhaps it is just the tears of rangers fans
Avatar 1:34pm Carmichael:

90 degrees here in Sacramento today, about 30 percent humidity. Gorgeous ...
Avatar 1:35pm TDK60:

Hello on May Day!
Avatar 1:42pm WO Town Wick:

Big Demme (and Feelies) fan. Rachel Getting Married and Something Wild are two of my favorite movies. This interview is making me happy.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Hoboken Jack:

Great interview!! R.I.P. Demme
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Gaylord Fields:

I came for Stan Demeski's words of remembrance about Jonathan Demme, and stayed for his sick burn on Todd! Is this part of the transition of the Feelies into a Don Rickles tribute band?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Michael 98145:

sob ... MTV
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Gaylord Fields:

I describe the Feelies as being, unlike most bands, inspired by the Velvet Underground's most melodic songs and the Beatles' least melodic ones.
Avatar 1:59pm Joe B:

Gaylord, couple that with Glenn and Bill actually talking to the audience once in a while so could be!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Parq:

Love that finish on the live "Slippery". Sorry to have missed the bulk of the set. Demme was one of the greats.
  2:03pm Miss Georgia Peach:

I like this show, Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm fred:

@Gaylord: VU's most melodic songs and the Beatles' least happen to be the ones I actually like. Guess I should check out the Feelies
  2:07pm P-90:

This period was peak Heads
  2:07pm Lixiviated Life:

... it's all too much (really)
Avatar 2:08pm Carmichael:

Aaahhh, I love this Eno. From the Married to the Mob soundtrack, no?
Avatar 2:09pm northguineahills:

I have somehow have never heard this Eno...
Avatar 2:10pm KP:

Wow. This sounds like Gene Parsons of the Byrds covering the version by Gram Parsons and the Byrds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Michael 98145:

beautiful, isn't it ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm doctorjazz:

What a great cover by Eno!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Gaylord Fields:

@fred: You should, irrespective of my assessment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Michael 98145:

wow, great set, Joe B
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Gaylord Fields:

@Joe B: Yup. I've heard Glenn say "Thank you" to the audience, and that's about it. Maybe he'll start adding "ya hockey puck!"
Avatar 2:14pm Joe B:

he actually jumped off the stage at vintage vinyl back in march (well, it was about 10 inches high and it was because he couldn't hear. but I'm hoping it will pass into legend as, Glenn jumped off the stage!)
Avatar 2:14pm Wild Neil:

Peace all. @Fred-the Feelies are kinda like the VU in sense...I think you would like them. They did "Everybody's got something to hide...except for me and my monkey".
Avatar 2:15pm KP:

No it's Eno. Amazing. Actually McGuinn is on the original album and a Gram version was released later. but it really sounded like Gene.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Michael 98145:

always love seeing Robyn live
  2:18pm Bluesman:

Sweet music to my ears. I don't think I've heard 1974 since...maybe 2004!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Michael 98145:

- all those molecules of time you thought you'd shed forever -
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm fred:

I prefer to have my first impression of a band live. Seems like I'm late for the Feelies
Avatar 👻 2:22pm David Shortell:

Remember that great used record store in the yellow building at Englishtown Auction? Among my earliest LP purchases back in the 1980s, I acquired Reprise's Great Lost Kinks Album for a pittance!
Great Lost Kinks album
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm fred:

I still haven't seen Neil. So expensive these days, it's not happening. No way I'm spending €50+ to see him
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Stevel:

fred: I hear you on the money, but I saw him about 3 years ago with Crazy Horse and it was worth every penny, in an arena no less. It defies logic that four old guys rocking out together would be so good, but they are.
Avatar 👻 2:27pm David Shortell:

@V Priceless
Yes, "Lucy Leave" was indeed recorded by ex-Monster Magnet member John McBain's band Wellwater Conspiracy.
It's also sometimes played live by ex-Monster Magnet members' band the Ribeye Brothers!
  2:28pm ndrewb:

what about neil's song from "philidelphia"
Avatar 2:30pm WO Town Wick:

Neil Young-related, I like his music but I could not make it through his voluminous autobiography "Waging Heavy Peace". Too many long diversions into model trains and his sound company. Still he has written more books than me!
Avatar 2:30pm V Priceless:

@ David S - thanx - I was unaware of the MM/Rib-Eye connection!

I think Young's 'Philadelphia' tune should have won the Grammy. Brilliant.
  2:35pm Hackensack Slim:

Hey, Neil's singin' about my car. All right.
  2:36pm ndrewb:

In Springsteen's oscar acceptance he basically said Neil should have won
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm fred:

@Stevel: That only makes me more conflicted. I'd rather support local bands, and after supporting the station funds are tight. Still, splurging on a Neil show is so tempting...
Avatar 2:37pm V Priceless:

@ ndrewb - that's right, Oscar is what I meant!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Michael 98145:

thank you once again, Joe B
Avatar 2:51pm geezerette:

This is f*%ing GREAT
Avatar 2:53pm geezerette:

...& hello, Joe and music lovers.
Avatar 2:53pm V Priceless:

thanks for a swell show, Joe!
Avatar 2:54pm northguineahills:

Thanks Joe!
Avatar 2:57pm Wild Neil:

I had an awesome Neil Young bootleg some crazy girl in Flint Hall dormitory at SU stole from my collection. I was so dumb.
  5:41pm Bob Boyd:

Alejandro Escovedo is playing a house concert on Staten Island on May 14. Great intimate venue to see a solo performance.
