Good Morning!

Right back at ya, Mr. Jones!

i loved this Fixx track as a teenager when it came out. Still stands up well after all these years (compared to a lot of the chart stuff from the time). It's got a serious atmosphere, brings back those early 80s cold war paranoia vibes! Does anyone else remember thinking we were all going to imminently die in a nuclear war?

Good Morning, Your Eminence!!!!!
Was washing off the lather when Neon Rainbow came on and I though, Wow, I haven't seen a neon rainbow since I stopped doing acid.
A little traffic in Brooklyn, a little out on Long Island, nothing serious in NJ, so let's get to it!!!!!
Have a happy day!!!!!

Raymond Jones:

What's that stain he keeps talking about? How disgusting!!!
Avatar 6:15am
ausmanx:

canterbury, it was in the air for sure, but i prefer the Fischer-Z stuff, and their album was Red Skies Over Paradise, interestingly. but they were blunter, more political, and "Misslies" is great. it's a shame that they seem to have faded so much from view...
  6:23am
Schnipp:

Morning troops. Greetings and salutations from western union county, New Jersey USA. Some of us log in to work from home at 6am, but yesterday totally forgot about this weeklong acid trip.

Greetings, all! I've got a question (or two) concerning the music industry and music radio, and if anyone can answer it (them), I'd be most grateful. It's a question which has been keeping me up nights for quite some time. So here goes...

When a song is played on the radio, how much is the royalty payment? Is it different for each artist? Is there an average amount, a standard royalty rate, or do the more successful bands/artists like The Beatles and Elvis command a higher rate than the others? Any info will really be appreciated! Thanks!
  7:09am
Jonesey:

You got it Hawkeye. Nice Catch. Grimsby was the coolest!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24am
-Ken:

@Rhinovirus - the quick answers are: only songwriters get royalties for FM radio play in the US and huge songwriters get the same rate as everybody else. There are bills in congress to change this, to add FM royalties for record labels and performers as well. More questions, email me.
  7:25am

Whoa -- Thought Glen had it in for Patti somehow. Unsure I've ever heard you play her before.

Thank you so much, Ken, for taking the time to answer my questions -- I really appreciate your help. I find the whole subject of music TV, music radio and royalties quite interesting, but specific, accurate information is hard to find... Thanks again, Ken!
