Avatar 12:44pm Joe B:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

$180 is just $15 / month - which of course supports WFMU.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Tim 07030:

You're welcome! Now please don't play "The Original Wrapper"
Avatar 12:49pm Joe B:

Joe's 2016 marathon, I think I wound up going out and buying 5 albums that were put for prizes. Looks like I'll be doing the same this year! LOVE IT!!!!!!
Avatar 1:06pm Carmichael:

This is Lou Reed ... THIS is Lou Reed?!?
Avatar 1:07pm Joe B:

Hardly anyone in the grand prize drawing so far! Lou Reed - The Complete RCA & Arista Album Collection. 17-CD Box Set! pledges of $100 or more at any time during the show until 3 pm are eligible for this drawing! mastered by Lou himself in his last project before he left us. THIS IS THE ONLY COPY WE GOT TO GIVE AWAY DURING THE ENTIRE MARATHON! THE STATION DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ONE!
  1:14pm Listener Robert:

Just as I wrote a couple days ago that a great deal of the success of any business or fundraiser is a factor beyond their control -- the economy -- so too it is with the TIMING of the donations. Yes, I'm sure a good pitch by whoever's on air can help, but don't feel bad if it doesn't. It's largely about externally imposed rhythms like the business week.
  1:16pm Listener Robert:

The main thing is that most donors like enough of the station as a whole that that's what they really think of themselves as donating to, which is the truth.
Avatar 1:17pm Cecile:

the lyrics of this song feel like a "build your own Lou Reed song kit" not put in the correct order.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Marcel M:

Big Ds... EYYYOOOOO!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Marcel M:

@Bill Kelly: I also heard that. Apparently John's father scolded him after one of their first gigs because all the girls were talking to him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Star Tavern RULES.
And actually Sun Tavern ain't bad either.
  1:25pm dug:

rutts hut. home of the ripper
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Marcel M:

I had a few bears in my yard in Northern Jersey!
Avatar 1:30pm Joe B:

curent prize drawing is for Soggy - self-titled LP. The definitive collection from thsi French cult band. Formed in 1978, Soggy quickly developed a unique style of Stooges-infused punk and hard rock
Avatar 1:32pm Tomophobic Tom:

It seems wrong for Bill Kelly not to get the entire fabulous Lou Reed box set.
Avatar 1:33pm Michael Shelley:

As a huge fan of Joe Belock, both personally & professionally, I urge you to donate to this fine program. Joe's show is vital - he had great taste, great mic breaks and mines yet another part of the music spectrum to unearth music not heard on other fmu show, or anywhere!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Uncle Michael:

Tommy Scott is a Joe Meek production, I *think*. Not sure...
  1:46pm Listener Robert:

Yeah, Marcel, but with prices like yours, you're not likely to see many more of them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm joe:

Here you go the Senators bass player telling a Phil Spector/Ramones style story during their time of working with the Joe Meeks. www.walesonline.co.uk...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Marcel M:

@Robert: Well now that I'm in Brooklyn I think I'll see 0.. due to real estate prices, of course.
  1:52pm Listener Robert:

I recently moved from the Bronx to Sussex Co., but I helped friends move there in 1996 (just in time to take advantage of the 90.1 Mt. Hope station, newly acquired) and so have had the black bear experience.

55+ yrs. ago when we drove to our relatives' in Livingston, Daddy used to point out a "BEAR RIGHT" sign, and we'd duck. Didn't realize then that bears would become a thing in NJ.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Marcel M:

Yeah there are a ton in Northern Jersey. They closed the Ramapo Reserve for a while because of it. Has that reopened yet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm joe:

And doing sound in Monty Hall
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Marcel M:

Oh I'm seeing it has been reopened.
  1:55pm Listener Robert:

Is Pyramid Mtn. Park part of the Ramapo Reserve? Too bad I'm not in condition to hike it now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Marcel M:

@Robert: I'm not sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Andrew Waterloo:

I love Barrence, we chatted about WFMU the last time he played here in Waterloo.
  1:58pm Listener Robert:

I'm hoping I can stomp to some tune played here to get my heart out of A fib, where it's been since Thurs. I should extend the offer I made Sat. to donate another amount equaling what I did last week if your rhythm succeeds in defibrillating me.
  2:03pm Listener Robert:

I see they're different parks, Marcel, but on the same range, parallel to Routes 202 & 287.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Michael 98145:

this is great
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If Joe doesn't make his goal today, I'm pretty sure the consequences will be that he'll have to perform at Hoof 'n' Mouth while wearing a dress. Please pledge well so it doesn't come to that!
Avatar 2:08pm Joe B:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Marcel M:

I just watched Danny Says last night. It was great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Parq:

Marcel, did you see it in a theater or on TV? If the later, who is running/streaming it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Marcel M:

Netflix! Though... you should pledge to get the DVD not watch it there.... heh...heh.... ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Parq:

Alternatively, some of you may want to pledge *because* you want to see Joe perform at HnM in a frock.
Avatar 2:32pm Joe B:

current prize drawing is for Danny Says: A film by Brendan Toller. DVD of the amazing documentary on one of the founders of punk rock. Former WFMU DJ! Avatar 2:54pm Joe B:

  2:54pm Bluesman:

Let's get David Jo and Archie Bell into the studio for a tag team!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Very nice ... reached the goal. We're safe!
Avatar 2:58pm Tomophobic Tom:

I actually did not go the IBJ thing this year. I thought it would be more fun getting drunk before noon with Bill Kelly in a room full of loud strangers on St. Patricks day lets set the date.
Avatar 2:58pm Tomophobic Tom:

This song is dead to me since I heard the Archie Bell version.
