Thomas Dolby joins Devon to discuss his film, documentary, video game and other multimedia music projects, including composing for Richard Brooks' last film "Fever Pitch" (1985), the George Lucas-produced "Howard The Duck" (1986), Ken Russell's "Gothic" (1986), German cannibis-monster movie "Wolpodzilla" (1994), Poe-inspired video game "The Dark Eye" (1995) and Dolby's own written and directed documentary "The Invisible Lighthouse" (2013). Thomas Dolby will be at the Rubin Museum of Art on Saturday, March 4th with neuroscientist/DJ Jacques Lavoisier to discuss how the brain, music, and technology are interconnected which will include an interactive experiment with select audience members involving Emotiv multisensory brain reading headsets. ...I'm always going on about the book 'This is Your Brain on Music' by Daniel Levitin - who is both a successful music producer & a neuroscientist. W/ MRIs, we can now finally 'see' some of what's happening in our craniums w/ regards to it. I think every Music Junkie should read it.
