hi Little D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm
Little Danny:

Melinda! How are you doing this evening? I'm doing warm and cozy myself
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm
melinda:

Cozy here as well! It snowed today, now it's raining. Nuts.
Avatar 10:12pm
still b/p:

Nice snowfall doing its thing now in the streetlight. Should walk in it....at least as far as the curb to retrieve my recycling bin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm
melinda:

update: snowing again. @b/p: did it rain earlier or did I imagine that?
Avatar 10:17pm
still b/p:

Oh, yeah, rain and noisy roof run-off for a good while.
Local note: I must see the interesting current PMA exhibits tomorrow eve or they be gone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm
melinda:

I'll have to miss them, which is too bad.
  10:20pm
MrFab:

Yo DJ D! That Irish mambo was hysterical. As a a person of Paddy descent, I request that you mp3-isize that sucker and post it on your wonderful wonder-blog.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm
Little Danny:

Thanks MrFab! The blog of which you speaketh isn't very active, but I'd be delighted to send you a link to said track

Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Hi Danny & listeners, greetings from sweltering Melbourne, Aus, a great and varied opening to this evening afternoons proceedings
  10:30pm
MrFab:

Thanks guys!
A bagpipe mambo. Just when you think you've heard it all...
  10:31pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Al Simmons with Slim Green and the Cats from Fresno, an old fave, on Johnny Otis's Dig lable,in 57, if I remember
Avatar 10:37pm

Scots only do the MacArena.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm
Little Danny:

Pistol Pete! What temperature is sweltering?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm
Little Danny:

Does anyone recall the name of the Irish manifestation of the bagpipe?
  10:46pm
MrFab:

Uilleann pipes. Pronounced "Ill-ean" I believe. You squeeze 'em under your arm, no blowing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm
Little Danny:

Thank you Mr. F, that's the one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
Little Danny:

God this Burman. The most overtly psychedelic Bollywood track I've experienced
  10:52pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Danny, just looked, its only 26 degrees Celsius, about 17 F but the humidity is 50% ad rising! Guess thats not too bad, was 36 for the last couple of days
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm
Little Danny:

Pete, do people in Australia talk about the heat like they do here? Namely, when describing a desert or dry region, do they say "It's hot, but it's a dry heat" in an apologetic way?
  11:00pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Yep Danny, Australia is such a big country, it is humid in one part and desert dry for a large part, as well as having tropical weather.
That Basil Kirchin Primative London sound track is killer, has anyone seen the movie? Its managed to escape my dragnet, think it was made in 1966, ice Piero Umiliani, track, Danny did you check out his connection with the late 50's sensational Wilma Montesi murder case in 1957? He was a prime suspect for a while
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm
Little Danny:

Whaaaatt? If we did talk about the Umiliani case, I'd somehow blanked on it. That's astounding!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm
Doug Schulkind:

All hail Sohail!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04pm
Little Danny:

Everyone look busy, the boss is here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm
Little Danny:

I just love annoying you Doug. But I'm genuinely happy to see you here!
  11:05pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Danny, "Death and the dolce vita : the dark side of Rome in the 1950s by Stephen Gundle" is a great read, if you can track it down, also talks about the birth of the Paparazzi and post fascist, post war Italian politics and the massive cultural changes of the time, very interesting book and writer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm
Doug Schulkind:

You couldn't annoy me if you had a chihuahua and an air horn, Little Danny!
  11:08pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Sorry Danny it was Piero Piccioni NOT Piero Umiliani!! who was the susspect! Woops always get those two mixwed up!! Still a great book though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm
Little Danny:

Haha, I always get the Pieros mixed up as well! Thanks for the book recommendation - sounds juicy as heck!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
Little Danny:

You're the greatest Doug. Oh for an air horn right now.
  11:12pm
MrFab:

Don't scare me like that, Pete. The idea of Mr Mah Na Mah Na being a suspected killer was very disillusioning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm
melinda:

That sounds like a good book.
  11:16pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Sorry MrFab: still he was guilty of the Mah Na Mah ditty, which of course was from an Italian sex comedy of the early 70's, the name of wich escapes me, as does the director, and yep melinda: its a great read
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm
Doug Schulkind:

Just keep the air horn away from that little bastard, LD.
  11:33pm
Lore:

Greatly enjoying the program as always DJ LD!
  11:33pm
holland oats:

Great show (
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm
Little Danny:

Adam! Thanks, and great to see you here! Got the Rev. CJ LP, proper thanks in a forthcoming email
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm
Little Danny:

Thanks Holland! And hello to you
  11:36pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Nice Illinois Jacquet selection Danny, there is a fantastic 4 cd box set on Proper records out of the UK that is sensational & well worth picking up, as the CD is now completely obsolete and cheeep
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm
Little Danny:

I need to dig into that one, Pete! The guitarist on this Nat Cole track (Irving Ashby) makes me think of you
  11:47pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Love Irving Ashby!! But I do like Oscar Moore a bit more, a real early electric pioneer As is the sensational Tony Mottla!!
  11:50pm
Pete from Melbourne Austraila:

Thanks again for a very interesting and always enlightening show again Danny, and night all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00am
Little Danny:

G'night all, see ya next year!
