	1:07pm hyde: i also went to see the Meadowlark Lemon/Curly Neal Globetrotters live. Spoiler: they won. my first movie memory is seeing a Lancelot Link short before Zebra in the Kitchen (also a Pink Panther cartoon and a travelogue about the Rio Grande)

	🛒 1:11pm Sweet Corn Lizzie: I'm too old to know about any of these TV shows but god knows such things were always around - "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" etc. I'm letting the sun shine in my heart, right now.
	1:11pm coelacanth: hahaha - when i was little i thought pebbles was singing "mothers never lose and fathers never win". (because of the events of the program.)
	1:13pm coelacanth: i like frente but i never heard that. it's a lot better than the other non-flintstones version i've heard.
	1:15pm chromaphone: This is pretty cool, but the original version was great. Another theme that is running through much of this show is songs with key modulations.
	1:18pm annie: i really had no stomach for those newer children's shows. i was a little racals/our gang fan.
	1:18pm still b/p: In the episode when Pebbles and Bam Bam got famous with the song, it turned out to be one of those "all just a dream" deals...Fred's nap dream.

	1:25pm chromaphone: I watched a really interesting interview with the Krofts like 10 years ago at the Museum of TV and Radio. They said all their shows were influenced by some horrible hurricane that they experienced in Rhode Island as children.
	1:26pm coelacanth: annie i agree. i was very cynical about tv in general. i knew the commercials were lying and thought the new cartoons were not funny and therefore what's the point? the older ones with personified animals were generally much better. i did enjoy some silliness though, like sitcoms.

	1:33pm northguineahills: Yep, there are still Saturday Morning Children shows. Couldn't name them. My sister-law-keeps the Disney channel on 24/7 and she doesn't even have children (and she's a few years north of 30).
	1:34pm Goyim in the AM: Friends was one of the two themes for Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.
	1:35pm coelacanth: right Lizzie. we watched the flintstones and the jetsons out of boredom, and i don't think it helped much! ...the warner bros. cartoons ruled though!
	1:37pm Goyim in the AM: Johnny Whitaker sang Friends, anonymous studioids sang the other theme. Whitaker couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.
	1:37pm still b/p: We couldn't watch any of the Saturday cartoons when I was very young, then we were allowed some ration -- an hour or something -- then I think the other much younger siblings, in the standard arc of relaxed conditions in a large family, eventually were watching the hell out of that shit.

	1:47pm coelacanth: does anyone else remember the tv ads that suggested good things without an ulterior motive? one was "it's nice to share". the song went: "aww, that's the way it is - truly-uly-uly is..."

	1:25pm chromaphone: I watched a really interesting interview with the Krofts like 10 years ago at the Museum of TV and Radio. They said all their shows were influenced by some horrible hurricane that they experienced in Rhode Island as children.
	1:26pm coelacanth: annie i agree. i was very cynical about tv in general. i knew the commercials were lying and thought the new cartoons were not funny and therefore what's the point? the older ones with personified animals were generally much better. i did enjoy some silliness though, like sitcoms.
