Hey Fred, I finally got to see Mdou Moctar live. It was pretty special.

Hiya, Nate, duke, fred. Commence to light it up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09am
fred:

That's great, Nate! Did he mix it up with more acoustic songs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12am
Nate K.:

Hey, Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12am
Nate K.:

Fred, it was a small show in a record store, so it was all acoustic, but still pretty amazing. He's the first person I've ever asked to sign a record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15am
fred:

I'm not surprised, I saw him go acoustic for parts of his shows, solo or with a drummer, and he was amazing. He didn't do that the last time I saw him and I was disappointed (I'm spoiled)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17am
Nate K.:

He still got a pretty good groove going even without a drummer. His style his so rhythmic anyway.

@Fred, yeah, in another life, I play all Louisiana music...Maybe I'll do a special at some point.

Transitioning from The Heartbreakers to The Left Banke with one song in between? I don't think even Murray The K could pull that off with such aplomb.

Yeah, so I've been listening, but Endless Summer actually made me get the hell up off of the bed and make coffee. What's the surf in' like in Erie, PA?

Sir Slouch:

Wow, Reigning Sound crossed my mind while you played the Beach Boys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Have a friend - just a few years younger than me. She's all into Nicks-era Mac - which hits me as 70s-era cocaine 'Rubber Soul' - & she doesn't relate to Beach Boys - thinks 'Pet Sounds' is like goofy carnival music er somethin' (of course I think it's uniquely rich & inventive & totally affecting)...funny that. I wonder if it's because I was alive in the earlier 60s & Beach Boys resonate some very foundational level - & she weren't...

@Dave in Vt: I saw him do it years ago w/ the Wondermints. It's like - what's the next act - The Who coming on & doing 'SellOut' Live here? The Beatles w/ Pepper - ?!??...
