	10:06am Chris M.: top 40 is shit no matter what time period you are looking at. the fact is that amazing music happened and is still happening. you just have to dig for it. even some of this music that is now "classic rock" was not as popular when it came out. look at the charts and you may be surprised what was in heavy rotation in '76

	10:11am P-90: I was a teen (from NY) living in LA that year. Flo and Eddie hosted their own very hip radio show on Sunday nights on KMET ("The Mighty Met!"), right after Dr. Demento's original show.

	11:06am P-90: Also there were songs like Donna Summers' "Love to Love You Baby" and The Tubes' "White Punks on Dope" and "What Do You Want from Life?" that had been released in 1975, but were still huge presences in the landscape of 1976. And P-Funk had worked its way from cult status to arena tours by then, the most popular they had ever been. George Clinton and Co. were certainly among the bands that "enabled" bands like Prince's that followed...
	11:07am Parq: This was a big number in the Fela bio-musical. In the play, Fela talks about how it was a worldwide monster dance-floor hit. Which is bizarre, considering that the lyrics are incendiary anti-military.
