And Saturday begins again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Afternoon, Fools! Oh man is it good to be here.
  1:06pm Officer Boobtube:

MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E is on all weekend long on Decades TV !!!
  1:06pm longish:

Ah -- morning in Seattle. Strong coffee, donuts and indispensable Rex!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Greg from ZONE 5:

What's your average nowadays, Rex? Threw frames with some FMU luminaries last night and it occurred to me that you are probably a powerhouse bowler…
  1:12pm burt:

Smyrna, GA reppin!
Avatar 🌮 1:12pm Mailman Tom:

Larri Thomas was a regular on the Dean Martin Show, a show I loved to watch back in the day!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Welcome to the show, fellow fools!
  1:15pm Cliff:

Good afternoon everyone
Avatar 1:16pm glenn:

holy tiny waist, batman.
Avatar 1:17pm Lopez:

Always a great show! Most weeks I listen to Fools Paradise from the archives but love hearing it live today. Keep up the fantastic action!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Josh Wittenberg:

What's a honeycone?
Avatar 1:22pm glenn:

morals have buttons. everybody knows that.

Old enough to remember girdles.

Steel guitar solo!!
  1:35pm Ted:

After 40 plus years I can honestly say I have never heard anything like that Little Brown Jug!

Fan! A New Larri Thomas Fan Is Born. (Damn this corn liquor.)
Avatar 1:43pm Marc Francis:

There were a few people at the bar who were looking bad when I wrapped up my set at 3am last night. Real bad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Pre-clicked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Goyim in the AM:

Apparently the secret ingredient in Nature Boy was egg, which is just what you want from a fine wine.

RECORDS OF PRAISE
Avatar 1:58pm kyle a.:

hey gang! ages ago there was a keen video tour of the fools paradise catacombs, which rex hosted. does anyone remember this or know where it may still exist in the ether?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Gaylord Fields:

I can vouch (and verify, if challenged) that Greg from ZONE 5 bowled a not-too-shabby 215 yesterday. He's too modest to toot his own horn. I'm okay with my own 132.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Mike East:

Good afternoon, Fools!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Mike East:

I get excited if I break 100...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Parq:

Your reminiscences about the Dean Martin show brought to mind one woman who didn't fit into either of the categories you mentioned. She was a semi-regular comedienne, red hair, a bit big-hipped, usually payed either a secretly randy mouseburger or a still-randy middle aged mom. She was brilliant, and she got a lot of work in those days, but dang it, I can't find her name no matter what I try. Pity, 'cause she's well worth remembering.
Avatar 2:08pm Daddy-o Dilly:

What an absolutely perfect sunny day for walking the dog to the park with Fool's Paradise blasting from my smart phone tucked in my jacket. Not at all bad for February in Kansas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Greg from ZONE 5:

I'm jealous of your spare game, Gaylord. They are the free throws of bowling: they're not flashy, but they're the key to success.
  2:09pm Helpdesk Don:

Thanks Rex. You've given the helpdesk audio assistance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Gaylord Fields:

Records with "Beatle" in the title are almost always great records (and rarely sound anything like the Beatles themselves). It's the shameless exploitation that makes them great!
Avatar 2:13pm glenn:

because of course, mambo is the first thing i think of when i hear the word ontario.
  2:16pm Kand Sass:

Kansas is one of two death-penalty states, along with New Hampshire, where no executions have been carried out since the 1976 reinstatement of capital punishment in the United States.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Gaylord Fields:

@Greg from ZONE 5: That's mighty kind of you, but I'd prefer to have your seven-strike game. My personal best is when I rolled six strikes in one game at a lane in Istanbul. (Yes, I bowled two turkeys in Turkey! And yes, that's going on my tombstone.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm dale:

i remember that video tour of the fur lined fall out shelter. i was disappointed that your little dog didn't have a pencil mustache, however.
Avatar 2:18pm Marc Francis:

@glenn: I've heard of something called the Oshawa Mambo. Have you ever done it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Greg from ZONE 5:

I watched that video! It's like if MTV Cribs had been awesome instead of terrible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Uncle Michael:

I need a link to that video. I'm a bowling shrine aficionado.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Uncle Michael:

Usually a Chris Schenkel prayer candle has to do.
Avatar 2:21pm Joe non Papa:

I found it on the (now dormant) Beware of the Blog blog.

Avatar 2:22pm glenn:

the last time i was in the 'shwa was for a polish / ukrainian wedding. there was much polkaing, but no mambo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Greg from ZONE 5:

CLASSIC. First heard this on one of the Las Vegas Grind comps in college.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Gaylord Fields:

The only person in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the USBC Bowling Hall of Fame? Fool's Paradise fave Lloyd Price!
Avatar 2:29pm Miss Mailas:

I feel like an Oshawa Mambo is something that leaves you with a bad headache and a LOT of regrets.
Avatar 2:31pm Daddy-o Dilly:

Parq: You don't mean Jo Anne Worley, do you?
Avatar 2:31pm Miss Mailas:

Did Lloyd Price show up to either of those Halls of Fame when he was inducted, or did he call the next day to say he couldn't find it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Greg from ZONE 5:

@Gaylord: GTFO. Seriously?! I need to start praying to him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Gaylord Fields:

@Miss Mailas: As well as all the cash in your wallet mysteriously replaced by Canadian Tire Money.
Avatar 2:35pm glenn:

oh, gaylord. you're really one of us.
Avatar 2:36pm Daddy-o Dilly:

Yes, fun to see the Fool's Paradise guided tour again. Tiki heads and totem poles make for an interesting juxtaposition. Rex, got any totem poles?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Gaylord Fields:

@glenn: My knowledge of pop-culture Canadiana for no good reason made me the hit of a Canada Day party hosted by some expats in Brooklyn several years ago.
Avatar 2:39pm glenn:

you must have been at the same wedding, m.m. there were many regrets next morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Bob Slee:

Is this André Williams' father ?
Avatar 2:44pm Miss Mailas:

Gaylord, you need to get up here to Quebec for Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day! It's like Canada Day, but with better music and more Catholicism-derived swear words.
  2:44pm Some Guy:

Joe E. Ross, the apple of our underwear
Avatar 2:45pm Joe non Papa:

Ooh! Ooh! The BOTB blog also had a great article about Joe E Ross by Kliph Nesteroff. Part of his new book, I guess.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Gaylord Fields:

@Miss Mailas: Tabernac!!!

I'm overdue a Quebec visit, if only for the vintage auto show at Montreal's Orange Julep. I'll let you know if I make the trip.

@glenn: Same to you and the GTA.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Gaylord Fields:

"Calisse" actually made it on a episode of Mad Men.
Avatar 2:54pm Daddy-o Dilly:
