@Disco King: he even managed to alienate himself at that point, for the rest of his life he never stopped "disowning" the Let's Dance/Glass Spider era. But: if you're Bowie, your "embarrassments" can be better that a lot of other artist's "successes"...

"Gomelsky produced" does not say much.
He managed, and took the tapes to paris in order to bootleg the track on BYG-Records and other Charly precursors. I don't think he did sth. technickally.

Unfortunately, I started to become aware musically right around the Let's Dance era. Which was more than enough to deter one from digging behind the 8 or 9 hits from the 70s one heard incessantly on "album-oriented rock" stations at the time (and hence, from uncovering the true genius of his work during that era, which lay behind those major hits).
