@sugarwolf The gif is from a YouTube about leopard cubs at a zoo -- quite dull except for this one moment when he covers his eye like that. But I wasn't the one who made the gif! I had no idea anyone else in the world had even seen it. It gives me such faith in humankind that others feel the same way I do...

I listen to the wonderful Previously TV podcast about Beverly Hills 90210, so I should definitely listen to Simpsons Time podcast. #rememberthe90s

Listener Robert:

Ms. Nazario, your Simpson podcast gives me an idea: I ought to do a podcast of commentary tracks for "Lost" (the ABC serial, not the game show by the same name). It bothers me that I seem to be the only one who "got" that show, & then only because of the great advantage I had of having known its creator, and that its creators seem not to be interested in making the story any more explicit, instead leaving the impression they fucked up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm
Amanda:

The world of podcasts is largely new to me, but I'm excited to reach a wider audience with this. I get the impression that podcast people are good listeners to talky commentary. Which means that they will point out my mistakes, but I welcome it.

I wish that Avett Brothers song (and the Avett Brothers in general) would get more love in more quarters. But as long as it's getting the right kind of love (from Amanda, for example), all is good.

I liked that Paul Simon song, but I pictured him singing it in a turkey costume
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm

Maybe the whole movie One-Trick Pony should've been him dressed as a turkey and in other different furry outfits.

@Gaylord, glad to hear you are an Avett booster!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

When's the last time anyone's car has actually been troubled with vapor lock? With the fuel injection and all today, it's literally a thing of the past. It's a great gag for a Simpsons episode.
  1:41pm
Listener Robert:

How I got into it was sorta-almost the way Mr. Simpson wound up coaching football. I participated in a Delphi forum on single wing football where everyone else was a current or former coach, so they were like, you have all these ideas, why don't you try them on the field? Almost like a dare. That was about 10 yrs. ago, & I would've started in 2006 exceptI had a heart attack, but I volunteered in 2007 & have been doing so every season since except 2009, although not continuously w the same organiz'n.

It was either after watching What's New Pussycat or Casino Royale that led my mother to tell me "the 60s were dumb."

Hackensack Slim:

@ Ken from HP
When ever I see this Simpsons episode, I am reminded of traumatic, vapor lock related, family car breakdowns that haunted my childhood. I never knew anyone else who had the same problem. Just my mother and Joe Namath. I am thankful that it is a distant memory.
