	12:40pm Listener Robert: The genericity yet familiarity of non-recurring characters in season 1 was what led me to believe for many years that when we saw ostensibly the same character in various episodes, it wasn't meant to be exactly the same person, but a generic type. They tended to introduce character names only slowly & as needed, which is why, for instance, I was led to think the 3 police characters represented different but similar police each time they were introduced, making a joke about stereotypes.
