I am writing tweets ahead of time for a Twitter chat later today where I will be the guest, and this fine show is keeping me from stress-barfing.
Avatar 9:57am
Jeff J:

Hey LJFW! What's the Twitter chat?
Avatar 10:02am
northguineahills:

better then barf-stressing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am
listener james from westwood:

@JeffJ: It will be for freelance copy editors, both members of the American Copy Editors Society and not, on the topic of tracking one's freelance time. 4pm EDT under #ACESchat. Likely will be applicable to non-editorial freelancers, too.

Welcome!

Jeff J:

Hi ya @northguineahills and @Artie!
@LJFW - that sounds interesting about tracking time. Is "always round up" a thing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am
Jeff Golick:

Higgins, Haden, and Cherry on this tune...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am
listener james from westwood:

@JeffJ: It can be! It just varies as to what you're rounding to: quarter hour, half hour, or dollar value. For some jobs I've done under distractible nonwork conditions, I've knocked off an hour lost to worry (e.g., parental illness). It all evens out.
Avatar 10:24am
Jeff J:

@LJFW - That makes sense. I've done similar things with freelance work.

Never heard this Phil Cohran thing before. Very nice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am
Jeff Golick:

Our Food Coop carries that brand, I think -- Ready-to-Go Nukables!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am
Jeff Golick:

I wish yogurt and coffee went together better. I'd probably eat fewer bagels, croissants, pastries, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am
Jeff Golick:

Cohran's an early AACM and early Sun Ra guy who seemingly maintained a life even more outside those already outsidery communities.
Avatar 11:04am
northguineahills:

Ok, gotta vamoose, thanks Jeffs for a wonderful morning, Yeah, that Phil Cohran was fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am

Bye, @ngh!

Jeff Golick:

Re this Ra: "Released in 1974 in a limited-run LP sold at live shows, Invisible Shield is one of the rarer Sun Ra albums. Mostly recorded in 1961 and 1962 with a final piece from 1970, the nine tracks here have a trajectory that mirrors Sun Ra's career and seemingly the progression of jazz itself. "
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am
Artie Haywire:

In related news: A crater on the planet Mercury has been officially named "Jobim", after Brazilian composer and musician Antonio Carlos Jobim.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am

Nice.

Sinatra's ghost now wondering when he gets his.
