@Therese: “I think everyone involved just did it for the Greek vacation.” You know what a great book would be? Actors/actresses being blunt and honest about why they did certain films. Like I remember some Jeff Garlin interview where he bluntly said, “I worked for 2 weeks and got paid $50,000. Why would I say no to that?”

@BadGuyZero: Yeah, but I want to know specifics. Like after that Sony hack leak execs were blunt about questioning why they fund/finance Adam Sandler films. I don’t want to know about that “why” but rather I would like to hear Rob Schneider say, “Hey, thanks to that 3 week Sandler shoot I now own this horse!” I mean that happens… The chance of anyone being that glib and still working in the business is zilch, but I still want to know.

JakeGould:

@Therese: “I would read an entire series of 33-1/3 sized books on actors doing it for the money.” How about a VHS T-90 series of books? I mean, why not.
  1:43am
JakeGould:

@(Eyepatch) Fox: Stuff like that supposedly absorb toxins in the gut. I occasionally take a tablespoon of Bentonite clay—comes from various manufacturers—which is volcanic clay that absorbs toxins in the gut and let your digestive system poop them out. It works well, but you need to be careful. If you take too much of it and at the wrong times—like if you take meds—it absorbs the meds and nutrients. So you need to make sure you are like 1-2 hours out of eating food or meds to take it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44am
pacific standard simon:

Um, because there IS an entire series of 33-1/3 books? I suspect the confusing word there is "sized".
  1:48am
JakeGould:

@PSS: Make the books the size of a VHS tape. Maybe Beta for the extra obscure stuff.
Avatar 1:50am
BadGuyZero:

A few days ago I was thinking Elaine Stritch probably would have been a great Auntie Mame and took to the interwebs to see if she had ever played the role. She did not. But she did portray Vera in a touring production. Judy Garland had wanted to be part of said touring production, but there were concerns about her reliability due to her alcoholism. So Judy and Elaine came up with a plan to try to make it work. Whoever was drunker on a given day would portray Vera and the other would be Mame. Judy didn't get the part, but that's a great story.

There used to be a music fanzine - I don't recall if it was North Texas-based or not - called 8-Track Gazette that was cut so that it was the same shape as an 8-track cassette. It was a little larger than an 8-track.

(Eyepatch)Fox [if you're still here- 'sorry!], silver is an anti-bacterial. it MAY also be anti-lyme and clinically proves to be anti-fungal. i would not use it for lyme except as part of a more multi-faceted strategy.
it is safe, but as pss eluded to @1:40,it may permanently affect your appearance. (funny, pss!)
silver is not purported to absorb anything. a quality product contains only silver and pure water. it just kills;it doesn't absorb or expel. Jake's idea of taking clay, which does absorb toxins is a good idea though. (but not for lyme)

@fleep - I've already found that, while trying to peruse internet porn.

@rw: Yeesh. When cities do that kind of stuff where they offer one thing and then pull it back, it smells like a barrel of pork.
  2:23am
JakeGould:

@BadGuyZero: Yup. Exactly. Printed books are dying and we live in the digital age. So a novelty/art book inspired by 8-track flaws—like one on Deep Purple’s “Machine Head”—is something I would be into.
