Morning everybody, hey Marcel! Congrats getting up early.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40am Marcel M:

Thanks Ken. We went out after the Cambodian Rocks. So it was no easy feat.
Avatar 🚽 Swag For Life Member 8:43am -Ken:

I loved that concert last night, the guitars sounded so great, and Im in love with Nimol from Dengue Fever. And the show almost sold out so the musicians and the station both made money. Twas great.
Avatar 8:45am People Like Us:

was it filmed?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am Marcel M:

I agree Ken, it was a great night. And Nimol's voice was incredible... that was definitely the highlight for me. I really liked her first song and then the duet with the grandson at the end was really special.
Avatar 8:53am cory:

of all the shows at monty hall, last night's is the one i really wish i could have gone to.
  8:53am fອfອ (:

Indeed. Was it filmed? Instagramed? Tweeted? Facebook statused? Social media broadcasted? I want to know all the details.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54am Marcel M:

I felt bad for the guy that lost his voice but it was very endearing and he still sounded cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54am Marcel M:

It was filmed, I saw people filming. What they will do with the footage? I do not know.
Avatar 🚽 Swag For Life Member 8:57am -Ken:

Yes, filmed and recorded and it will be aired in both formats this Saturday night on Rob'sshow 6-9pm.
Avatar 9:02am Roberto:

Dangit, forgot to check out the Grits Too Big To Roast again.
  9:02am fອfອ (:

Ken,

It sounds like a classic show poised to be remember for years to come just like the 1973 Led Zeppelin concert in MSG.

On another note, wouldn't be great if the Monty Hall concerts were hologramed all over the world? Just like the appearence of Stephen Hawkins in Australia via Cambridge just few days ago.
  9:05am fອfອ (:

Did I say Stephen Hawkins? HahAhaAh! I mean to say Stefan Hawkwind.

Avatar 🚽 Swag For Life Member 9:17am -Ken:

Yes, as audio. The video archive will be up initially for a month, but on uStream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am Asheville Jon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Parq:

Congrats, Ken (and everyone else) on a terrific success of a show. I kinda feel sorry for the people who opted to go to City Winery. And yes, Nimol is a goddess. I saw her with DF a few years back, and she was even more beautiful last night, not to leave out her voice. Will Saturday's broadcast be archived? A lot of us will be making our way back from the Point of Green at that time.
  9:20am fອfອ (:

Webhamster Henry,

Alas. These are the most memorable concerts ever:

Bob Dylan - Newport Folk Festival 1965
Beatles - Shea Stadium 1965
Jimi Hendrix Monterrey 1967
Woodstock 1969
Rolling Stones Altamont 1969
Bruce Springsteen - The Roxy 1978
Freddy Mercury Tribute 1992
Dengue Fever - Monty Hall 2015
Avatar 9:22am Lewis:

Thanks Ken!! and all the rest of the WFMU people who keep the frontier moving backward!
Avatar 9:22am cory:

wahoo, i get to listen LIVE with the wifey-poo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23am Marcel M:

@FOFO: Dengue didn't actually play. The singer, Nimol, performed classic songs of her country with a different backing band of Cambodians. Dengue fever is backed by US born people and fronted by Cambodian born Nimol.

I was confused by this myself till I looked it all up.
  9:23am fອfອ (:

Ken,

I detect a huge latent demand to see Dengue Fever live. Time for WFMU to unleash the 'Pay-Per-View' scheme.

Blood doping is the practice of boosting the number of red blood cells in the bloodstream in order to enhance athletic performance. Merci, Mr. Benign Tyrant Station Manager. Try boosting the Bees in your diet, including the vintage B-52, best taken by the flight. See ya!

Almost time for the Shipping Forecast!
(UK listeners will understand...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm the Canterbury wood-elf:

The "losing its identity" bit is always a Shipping Forecast favourite.

Rain later...good!
Avatar 12:03pm Dan B From Upstate:

"thunder showers. good." that's my favorite part of the shipping forecast
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm the Canterbury wood-elf:

I hope there are no confused sailors tuning into WFMU from British coastal waters right now!
  12:04pm Aimée:

YEAY the shipping forecast is the best, so great to hear it coming out of WFMU!! <3<3
  12:05pm fອfອ (:

I believe is illegal to re-broadcast the Shipping Forecast under the UK Radio Vandalism Act 1987.
Avatar 12:05pm Dan B From Upstate:

"Good, occasionally poor." That's a good one, too.

Bow down to her!
  12:10pm fອfອ (:

"Monsoon, coming from the East and flooding whole London. Good". That's my favourite one.
  6:11pm Kevlicki:
