An editor I work with named her new son Dashiell, as in Hammett. I'm picturing a baby bottle full of rye and a Fisher-Price .45.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Brian in UK:

Hello Charlie. Cannot escape Los Lobos today. No bad thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Mike East:

Los Lobos is doing a few nights at City Winery starting Saturday, I believe. We are providing backline
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Charlie:

Oh, hayy, Frensheee!
Hola, Mike East.
Brian in UK...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm listener james from westwood:

annie, that Simpsons special was a blast. It's been a long time since I've watched regularly, but it was great to hear the discussion of the classic eps, characters, and background/commentary from the DVDs.
Avatar 12:58pm ndbob:

my FF became corrupted when I had to do a system restore
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Charlie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Webhamster Henry:

Thanks for the Nichols & May! Really a cut above so much other comedy records.
Avatar 1:06pm ndbob:

I haven't watched anything for quite a while..

Avatar 1:07pm annie:

N&May!!! right up there with B&Ray!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Charlie:

Wow, ndbob -- would've been cool to see N&M.
Avatar 1:08pm Carmichael:

I saw a lot of Mal Sharpe on TV in the Bay Area in the 80s. Didn't put 2+2 together until this playlist. D'oh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Charlie:

That movie that Elaine May directed, A New Leaf, starring her and Walter Matthau, is one of my favorite movies.
Avatar 1:10pm ndbob:

@Chalie I love that movie
Avatar 1:10pm annie:

add my name to that list...
Avatar 1:11pm annie:

what does anyone know about this movie "the interview"?
  1:11pm steveo:

Googled up this interesting personal account of one performer's relationship with the nichols & may album http://www.cathyladman.com/#!More-Gauze/c1jjo/04B48271-6E20-4906-BCDB-EE4AA5A61737
Avatar 1:13pm Carmichael:

Don't waste your time with it, Annie. Unless you're a brain-dead teenager with disposable income.
Avatar 1:19pm annie:

aahh, ok.. good to know
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Charlie:

looks interesting, steveo.
Avatar 1:22pm Carmichael:

I'm bitter about any Seth Rogan "vehicle". Hence the snarkiness ...
Avatar 1:23pm Lewis:

Did Raymond Scott ever do a Christmas "album"?… Irwin would know...
  1:23pm steveo:

Cool, Charlie. I'm really enjoying your show, as always.
  1:25pm jan:

Yah- that Pete Galub song was fine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm schmutz:

Oh happy day! I've arrived just in time for Tall Dwarfs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Mike East:

yeah, Carmichael. The mouth on that guy...I'm no prude, but to me, cursing every other word shows lack of class and intelligence.
Avatar 1:33pm chromaphone:

I agree with the ambivalence about Rogan. Just don't think he is funny
Avatar 1:34pm annie:

crickey, thanks for the warning!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Charlie:

Lewis -- dunno -- and hi
Hi also schmutz and chromaphone
Avatar 1:36pm chromaphone:

HI Charlie, I think this is my first time listening. Great stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm listener james from westwood:

I hadn't even heard about the film until the recent kerfuffle. Not a filmmaker on my radar. He doesn't make films for my type.
  1:42pm Santos L halper:

Don't worry about The Interview. Looks like no one will be seeing it anyway, at least not until/if it goes straight to video/cable.

Enjoying the tunes Charlie!
Avatar 1:42pm northguineahills:

I forgot to say hello, Charlie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm listener james from westwood:

On the whole, vs. today's big-release Hollywood product, you're almost always better off with a documentary. Indie films and docs rule everything around me.
Avatar 1:46pm annie:

suggest you see "field full of secrets" in hulu or itunes if you can; soon to come to netflix... it's a very quirky film about crop circles.. my son is editor and producer.. he took on the project last year.. it's very good..not your normal cropcircle film
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm listener james from westwood:

You had me at crop circles.
Avatar 1:47pm annie:

LJFW, FFOS is right up your alley, then
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Charlie:

Avatar 2:02pm Carmichael:

Annie, I will check that movie out! Doug, pretty soon, I'll be the only person without a show ... Charlie, thanks for the great music!
Avatar 2:02pm Michael:

Thanks Charlie – I think I starred almost every tune. That’s a good thing, right?
See you next week – I’ll be cooking and most likely drinking during your show.

Looking forward to all of those activities.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Charlie:

Thanks, Michael. I won't be cooking. Drinking, maybe...
