Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from October 24, 2014 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Nope, TuneIn only tells me the name of the show and what's scheduled on the stream after: "Now Hinky Dinky Time," "15:00 GTD Radio Stream," "00:00 Radio Stream." Also shows the WF MU dog cow logo. When it hits screen saver mode, the WF MU logo is the only thing showing and it moves positions across the screen.

For whatever reason, you can't change stations too often on the TuneIn Roku app because the buffering then takes forever or never kicks in.

I have a suspicion that one of this world's great ironies is that people who don't think they're parent material are likely the best parent material.

googled it for you -- Nolo contendere is a legal term that comes from the Latin for "I do not wish to contend." It is also referred to as a plea of no contest.

@bobdoesthings: First learned that term w/r/t Maryland's one and only Spiro T. Agnew. (Maryland now demands a recount on my use of the possessive.)

@Listener James
As a son of Maryland, I would prefer that you not utter that nattering namebob of negativity.

yeah, so you say it "Filet" of Soul, the vocal was initially the A side & then the DJs flipped it & the instrumental blew up, spawning like a gazillion Horse answer tracks by not only Nobles but others.

@LJFW
I grew up not far from a(n essentially) gated community where Agnew lived. It was a suburban tract that extended out from an exclusive country club. All the homeowners in the neighborhood had to sign covenants swearing that they would never sell their home to a black, jew, catholic, etc. etc. etc. I tasted bile every time we drove past the turnoff to that enclave. Which was, sadly, almost daily.

@bobdoesthings - its true, though people still gotta get their disco fries, and not being able to smoke gets them out of their seats faster. Hanging out milking a bottomless cuppa coffee doesn't make any money for the diner.
