I'd like to listen to a couple of songs from an album by the legendary underground Swedish band named Ja (which translated means YES). The album is called "Berättelser från Topografiska Oceaner" but for commercial reasons their label translated the whole thing into English. So look in your archives for a band named Yes, with an album that has the keywords Oceans Topographic, Stories, or Tales.
You could copy/paste "Ja's" wikipedia page in one of your voice to text apps and play that through your phone. You can even change the name of the band to Ja for when you play it over the air.

Try searching for Rick Wåkemaän (JA's keyboard player). I heard he recorded some solo albums. Again, label translated everything (title, lyrics, etc..) into English.

Groucho,
Today you not only sound authentic and real but very knowledgeable! I salute you!
Now, I'd like to humbly suggest the great White Punks on Dope band version. I'm afraid to say this one is WAY much better than the Nina Hagen version, which in turn I'd have to say is way more superior than the original song.
Yes, what messages are Ken sending by his choices of animated gif images? Surely there's as much to that as the number of tiny stars on a "Playboy" cover....
Stereolab, to my delight, was playing on the plane the other day prior to take off. Right after, Sunday Morning by Velvet Underground played. It was a delightful surprise. For some reason airlines have decided to play music before and after take off now, and its usually torturous. And then, Stereolab and VU..... was like an oasis..
And though we'll submit an entry of our own into the mascot contest (probably the murderous eterna-kitten with her FHO-enabled corkscrew tail), right now my vote would be either for albino frog (symbolising the typical FMU listener, as per Bronwyn's 'onanistic shut-ins') or the dog seemingly steering the boat (Ken).
Yes, some Stereolab, please, or the cheeriest-sounding version of the darkest Velvet Underground song of which you can think....

@Marcel M- what airline plays such hip music? It would be good to Most often I hear some dreaded pop classics that stick in my mind long after having heard them.

That song was from an one hit wonder band called The Radiohead.
I'm loving the resurgence of Stereolab around these parts

Wow, Stereolab finally became elevator music to keep passengers calm on the plane. Who'd a-thought. I'm guessing they didn't play some of their crazier stuff from Cobra and Phases Group or Transient Random Noisebursts.
@Jan: It was a continental flight within Europe. The company was Vueling I think. A Spanish company. The Delta flights from US and back played horrible music of course.
My favorite was when I got on the plane and sat down, and the individual TV screen was on and you couldn't turn it off. It was CNN or something and it was showing footage of 9/11.
It's just that they have CNN on and nobody bothers to think what might be on it, or that passengers might want to turn it off. "Let's just put CNN on, and let's just play crappy music, that will please everybody." Because they really don't care.
I'm really into this band Le Femme right now. We say that movie recently "as above under below" or whatever it is called about the Paris Catacombs. Anyway, right when the credits kicked in a the end, boom - Le Femme --- it was awesome.
I always wanted to hear a rap version of this, I picture the video with a lot of jump cuts to group of angry guys chanting "down at the edge, close by a corner, close to the edge, down by a river".
So the WFMU Milgram experiment will involve commanding subjects to turn up the volume on Hall & Oates while the victim in the other room screams for mercy?

good morning fearless leader, and a delightful morning to everyone.....yurica my android phone is working too....
Just read that a humongafous book of Bob Dylan's lyrics is coming out. $200 for one of the regular ones from the printing of 3000, but if you want a signed one -- five thousand dollahhhhs.
Morning Ken & everybody! Give me one second to hijack the comments: My band is going to be on The Chris Gethard Show tonight. Everybody tune in! OK, I'm done.

Is this Aphex Twin song from the album realeased over the the Dark net? If so, how do I get there? I only know how to get to the World and the Regional Wide Webs.
Anyone getting censored by the little dump button feature in the Submit Comment form? It looks like when I type Ogre You ______ the word _____ gets censored.
Ah... Porn For the Blind takes me back to the day after Hurricane Sandy, which was weird times.

By the way, who was here when Ken played an uncensored episode of Porn for The Blind over the net? It was a day the radio transmitter melted down or something catastrophicly related happened. It was an historic moment in online radio. Alas, didn't record it.
If you havent pledged yet, every Cat Illuminati T-shirt comes with a big sausage pizza, whether you ordered one or not. Use the pledge thing at the upper left of this page. Help me hit 25% by Noon!
Kali - Sure. We will exchange any short for any other one as long as we have it in stock and we got lots of Woof Moos in stock. Just put your request in the comments field. Thanks Kali G!
If I were filthy rich I'd pledge to reach the full 100%. But first, I'd make sure the goal post is moved down to $100. Hey, they are filthy rich for a reason.
That's only because Ken hasn't played any Jokerfan song so far.

Ken thank you ever so for the show and Khlam Bake cd. If ever there were a doubt you are ' the' (a) man ( like Steven Segal). Seriously man, thank you.
What a fantastic show we had today! One of the year's best in my opinion (and there was no Khlam involved!). GOod luck and hope you reach 100% soon, Ken for both your show and SSD! Till next episode people! Adios!
