When I first moved to Cincinnati we got to our new house after midnight, I immediately plugged in my clock radio, searched left of the dial and found the noncomm station playing Gun Club, I knew I was going to be ok in the Midwest after all.

I saw the Gun Club once but Ward Dotson was on guitar then. Because I though the Gun Club broke up after Mother Juno I was startled to find out a few years ago they put several more records. I was particularly taken with Pastoral Hide and Seek and Divinity which Brian played on -- ask him about those if possible.

Also did he really play a Fort Reno Park gig a few years ago? (this is simply a grassy space between Alice Deal Middle school and Wilson High in Washington DC) I feel bad I missed that if he did play.

I once saw Griot Galaxy on a combination of allergy meds, pot, hash, coke and many beers. About half way through the show, saxophonist Faruk Z. Bey's head turned into a silver bear mask and everyone else turned into wild animals. It was kind of cool, but I never mixed substances again after that. AND THIS IS WHY I WILL NEVER TAKE ACID.

Love Gun Club and The Cramps and these bands were influential to us in the 80s but were always "underground." How does it feel to have survived the good n bad days of the underground n come out whole on the other side of the 20th Century? I cant wait to read those memoirs.
