Avatar 12:37pm ken in denver:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm Mike East:

@RevoRabbit - that might have been in Part I or II.
Avatar 12:38pm Claw!:

Oooh, I'm already digging the kick-off to the Bob Crewe tribute. Perfect music for listing old Playboys on eBay. Hah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Mike East:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Dominick:

Diggin' out some gems!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Parq:

Not to rush this set, but I was just reading forward on Crew's Wikip. bio. He formed Disco-Tex and the Sex-O-Lettes, I see. I remember when that album came out, and I assumed at the time it was a new Joe Tex project. Oh, youth ...
Avatar 12:57pm ken in denver:

Gonna play some Disco Tex, Joe?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Parq:

Maybe there will be a Freddy Boom-Boom Cannon biopic some day. I might actually see that, if only to see how the recreate Palisades Park (the place, I mean).
Avatar 1:00pm MenfussMike:

i can thank Andy Kaufman for turning me on to Freddy Cannon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah, I can't really say I've listened to much Freddy Cannon til just now, and I am looking forward to going back to work at the record store tomorrow and playing a bunch of his stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm efd:

Dennis Diken! Now we're talking! Just a few days before he passed I flipped by Bob Crewe's solo LP (or one of them, at least) while record shopping on vacation. I considered picking it up but it struck me as a little pricey at the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Dominick:

Yes, Dennis. Drums on "The Sun" are outstanding! Both the playing and the sound!
Avatar 👻 1:10pm David Shortell:

The New Jersey Oi! band, Niblick Henbane, would always cover Tallahassee Lassie in their sets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm efd:

Larry Uttal, who would go on to found the Private Stock label!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- haven't seen 'Jersey Boys' ; KCRW's film critic said Eastwood made it unnecessarily harsh & charmless or such...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Guido from Cologne:

Gettin' way down!!!...:)O(:...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Dominick:

Teenage memory of first hearing "Devil With a Blue Dress" Sounded like the car radio was exploding!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Parq:

Sad but true, my opinion of even Mitch Ryder's greatest stuff is colored by his by-the-numbers performance in Lincoln Center in 2010.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Guido from Cologne:

this is what I'd call "doubtfull Stereo" ...
... do theese things exist in Mono?
Avatar 2:34pm drewo:

Thanks Joe! Bob Crewe was the man. "Sock It To Me Baby!" was a family rec-room staple of my youth.
Avatar 2:35pm Joe B:

I hear ya Parq. thankfully we were denied permission to record it!
Avatar 2:36pm thriftstoreleather:

Joe, you are seriously On Fire!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Dominick:

Jim McCarty on this one?
Avatar 2:39pm Joe B:

Avatar 2:40pm thriftstoreleather:

eat your heart out , Rolling Stones!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm common:

that guitar sound is crazy!
  2:42pm ccrides:

My older sister bought the Sock It To Me album when it first came out and my mother took it away from her because of the supposedly questionable lyrics..."Everytime you kiss me feels like a f-ck" and "feel the fuzz now, gettin wet now"...etc...anyway I got the album and hid it and have had it ever since...it still plays OK but I've never heard the exact same version of it on-line...there are more voices cheering at the beginning of the cut on the album??? it seems like it goes into the song in a smoother fashion as well??...:)O(:...
  2:42pm Woo:

Electric Stories reminds me of Leo Sayer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Guido from Cologne:

certain need to observe the Four Seasons a little bit more than i even suspected
Avatar 2:46pm thriftstoreleather:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Guido from Cologne:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Guido from Cologne:

  2:53pm ccrides:
