Morning all - Im here this week after all and I'm doing a full three hours of video today. You can see the video on this page, on the WFMU homepage or on the WFMU Android and iPhone apps.
Helpful Hint #23: If you watch the video from this page and you want to comment, open a second browser tab to comment. Or in Chrome, you can hit <control> when hitting the 'Preview Your Comment' button, in order to open the preview window in a second tab (and not cut off the video).
Took a while to remember where I'd seen it. It's a very trippy scene, a little like early David Lynch, it made a strong impression when I happened upon it on TV as a kid.

That's one of Makajeyev's from the 70's

OK: "Sweet Movie" I think, --never would have remembered that title if I hadn't Googled his filmography
@ Ken: If you don't already have a Residents video in mind, may I suggest the live performance of their cover of "Burning Love"? (Yes, THAT "Burning Love")
Android application on a Nexus 7 (2013): clicking on the 'Play' button for the video brings up a browser (Chrome) window (without asking...weird because I try never to have default handlers for video), and the message that the video won't play on this device, though they might just be talking about the browser...so I am forced now to move to a desktop machine...like an ANIMAL.
It's good to see some good old-fashioned LSD sugar-cubes...none of that modern lavender or salted caramel stuff added. Life has gone downhill since Owsly won le Grand Prix des Confectionaires in '67...I remember that great ad in which that sweet young kid asked 'Mr Owsly, how many licks does it take to get to the centre of an LSD sugar-cube?' and his (in retrospect) obvious answer....

I'm rooting for Sudden Infant videos!!

@F☏F☏: Yuka Honda is the svelte one. Miho Hatori the shorter one.
Ken you're so fun and funny and you have something green stuck in-between your front teeth. I like this show a lot and it's really cool. Also this show is very good. And did I mention this is very fun? Ok bye.
Just curious, if one were listening to the Ustream audio, and there just happened to be profanity, it would be safe to assume that it got bleeped on the airwaves, right?
To all people working in an office worried about getting caught while watching videos:
Follow these steps and boss will never tell:
1. Open a new spreadsheet,
2. Dig a hole between cells E and H and rows 40-60.
3. Resize the video webpage to fll the hole.
3. Watch video while typing random crap in cell B61.
Boss will think you are looking at numbers and tables. Perfect plan.
@ngh: it's random, so you get a different one with each refresh. Now I just have to not refresh the home page or anything. I'm glued until the end of this
I'm getting bored with this 2D video. When will we get 3D?

jan:
@Ken- Real cult! What do you think today's show is? You have occupied our visual and auditory senses. Sensoround and some beads to fidgit with and you will have completely taken over your audience.
I think it a very important lesson that with all the cameras everywhere we, as this dude, should realize when we need to capitalize on the moment to document our expression.
this should definitely be a thing. like, a weekly video show.

The Winny Puh song is loosely based on a song Winnie The Poh sings in one episode of the ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC Russian cartoon version from the 60's or 50's.
That's what you miss in recorded music, all those flourishes. Then again, that might've been possible only on film with a bunch of splced takes & dubbing.
Enjoying the show, Hey, Wanted to let you know that my film "Jiro Visits the Dentist" using samples from the 365 days project will be screening at the Ottawa Animation Festival.
@listening I just bought the Jimi Hendrix postage stamps at the USPS and expected the artist to be playing right-handed. Fortunately, the stamp is correct but the fingers are drawn like a pack of hot dogs.
@ngh: Same here. I might have stuck around longer. Then again there are these god and worship things. Though I learned a lot about metal in Sunday school
That was maybe 3 years ago, but I remember seeing four young women performing this in front of work, pretending it was a fight but the slapping pattern soon rang a bell. That was awesome
Video suggestion, I guess for next time: there's a video for Gainsbourgh's "Les Sucettes" which is 'work-safe' if you're below the age of eight or so. One instance at www.youtube.com... which I'd say you couldn't download, but I say a lot of things.
...and watch for the man whose face reads 'This is really getting to all the girls, and Jimi will probably take just one, so this might be my lucky night.'.

I'm streaming Auspice together w/ Rituel in Memoriam Maderna, Pierre Boulez ..... great!
Will this be available to watch again? I often re-listen to the show during the week but I think I'd definitely re-watch this. Been busy in the garage a lot during the show and missed quite a bit too
Cyriak's cat videos are my anti-drug. I like them a lot, but ecven mentally unaltered they creep me out so well...never tried them on milk+velochet', though.
If you want to hear another example of individually reversing syllables, find the passage of "some day is gonna be the day that they're going to throw it back to you" on Neil Cicerega's "Mouth Silence".

Robert:
Ken has done it at times to mask unwanted stuff (such as out-of-date phone #s or iDs) on archived shows.

Listening Out There:
Next time you do this, Ken, you'll have to include appropriate video to accompany the test of the emergency broadcast system. Should be fun...
