Good morning Ken!
Woooaaah ... someone help the people with the technical devices!
Heavy balancing problems ... from near in comprehensibility of intervieaw partner (in the beginning) to heavily distorted playback of of accustic guitar music on the pre-recorded john allen show.
... while really valuable content-wise ... but a pity listening-wise
I hope one day I'll finally find a codebreaker to decipher the cryptic DVA, Anna Homler et al lyrics.
Some people say they made up their own languages. But according to my own conspiracy theory they sing about bringing about the revolution and defacement of the world bank system.
@northguineahills
Me the same! The show itself was very good.
But the technical side was annoying.
Dunno, but checking equpement before the show, esp. if it's gonna be pre-produced, should somehow be possible.
oh hey, music people- i need a father's day gift for my dad. he's 62 and loves classic rock so i'm thinking about getting him a dvd of a live performance or something like that (last year i gave him rock n' roll circus). any recommendations?
Damn, heard to beat Rock and Roll Circus, that was a great choice! Leonard Cohen's I'm Your Man is pretty great.

I'm amazed how much, Ken, your face has changed over the years. In your avatar we can clearly see how the hard work of running a radio station (or drug abuse) affected your facial expression.
I heard Skynard's 9-11 song on the way home from camp last week. "Red, White, and Blue." I think I only saw the whites of my SO's eyes, because she was rolling them so hard.

Good for you. I'm very far away from north FL and still cannot manage to appreciate Lynrd Skynrd.
How much is robbed from banks every year by people wearing stockings over their heads?
"I rob banks so I can buy more stockings. So I can wear more stockings to rob banks so I can buy more stockings." repeat faster and faster.
Is that 113,636 miles of those eggs stockings come in or the kind that already have the leg in them like you see in the store?

The Brooklyn Kid:
How about some "Clock DVA" like "buried dreams" or "voice recognition test" those songs would fig in but ken may have a hard time finding them

"No es ese tipo de fiesta".
Great fun song. I find it curious when the singer at the end of the song shouts angrily out of the blue to Juliana, to "get down off there!!" in Spanish. But there are no clues about who is Juliana , or why or where she is.
Anyone mind if I post the best this white suburban Northern boy can make out of the lyrics to Doughbelly Stray's contribution to this wonderful mashup? (Thanks to the VLCPlayer on 'Slow'.) Is there anywhere on this site I can post them instead?
M-I-{crooky-letter }-I-{crooky-letter}-P-P-I, bitch, what it's all about....
Careful with the legs, Ken, Robert Crumb started down this road awhile back and it ate his mind whole, leaving him only rich, famous, and crankily happy.
Guido: Are you a mathematician, or physicist (or maybe an economist)? Most men not so are too traumatised by analytic geometry, or maths education in general, to see that curve as sexy.....
Its funny, the drumming on this original track is so incredibly amazing yet so simple, and this drummer can't touch it at all. Just goes to show how truly great Scott Asheton was...
(fun show today, thanks ken. posting via a real computer. maybe below is of interest)

f0f0, Jandek proves Noah Cross' Chinatown quote 100% accurate: " Politicians, ugly buildings, whores (and Jandek) all get respectable if they last long enough. "

<< That my friends, is how a real winged monkey looks like.
its an actual interview where they follow him around and ask him the usual probing questions for a few days and do everything they can to pretend he isn't a troubled, inarticulate loner weirdo.
I'd like to see an ultimate battle between Daniel Johnston and Jandek. To give you some perpective of how am I picturing this imagine Putin vs Obama, or better yet Godzilla vs that giant Moth.

BTW, Godzilla would be Daniel Johnston and Putin..Obama and Jandek, the moth.

Talking about Monsieur Perrier...Where's pierre?! C'va mon ami?!
I heard last week David Bowie or some rock star band was/were releasing an album in vinyl and said there would be a hidden track on it. Now, that's more impressive. The only place I can think of as hiding place is the hole in the middle of the LP.
Dear lord, I have been listening to the show in the past! 5 minute delay or something. I'm still in the Kid Koala song and apparently the baby animal already arrived in the studio!
Well, Ken, many thanks. Great show, gifs, etc.Good luck with the SSD!
