The DVA-song that needs to get played:
"Vampira" ... starting with samba drums ... followed by a miniature horror radio play ... flollowed by a crazy track with marvelous "birds singing" rhythm sample loop.
In doubt:
"Teenie Weenie Boppie" on France Gall album "1968" is also cool!

Talking about DVA...
I went the other day into the interwebz with one goal in mind: Find more information about the band, but more specifically, make some sense out of their song titles and lyrics.
But I failed miserably. But fortunately I had a great Plan B. Or Plan CR because I have a Czech Republic roommate that loves music!!! So on behalf of the Wfmu and its listeners I subjected him to an intense interrogation session that lasted an one hour or so.
And now, my friends, I'll share you some of the most relevant and interesting insights I discovered about the band DVA...
FINDING #1
The album Nipomo has a song named Meteor which translated into English means...er..Meteor.
Liz played an amazing set on Monday!
Among that "Entropicalia", new album by The Soundcarriers.
For the osychedelic section! Seems worthwhile tryíng more tracks from that.

FINDING #2
Since they sing in a language my roommate failed to understand I had to put into question his nationality! But after reviewing his passport I came to the conclusion that he is not a fake Czech.
So it ocurred to me for a moment that maybe, just maybe, DVA are not from the Czech Republic!
So I showed him a video of the band playing in an undisclosed location in the outdoors. You can see some trees and a lot of snow. I asked him: Is this the Czech Republic? And my roommate said: "It really can be anywhere where it snows."
Well, that's was finding #2. But I have more! Hold on...
I was reading the earlier comments. I got the DVA LP too and I was intrigued by the lyrics. Not that I mind it too much, as Czech is almost an invented language to me, but I didn't know they sang in a "personal language"
Silly answer: I got no fuckin idea, doca. I checked out the first track and I liked it so Im playing it now but this is all I know of the entire album. Plus the GIF.
Hmmm, is an LP printed from a 3D printer 'digital' or 'analog'?

FINDING #3
I showed him a video from Youtube where DVA plays live for a radio show. In this song the singer sings a song in a language that reminded my roommate of a dialect spoken in the central Czech Republic. He said: "The way they pronounce 'zík' sounds very similar to the way the 'zék' sounds in the bohemian dialect. For instance they would say: 'Daj múku ze mlýna na vozík' whether we would say 'Dé móku ze mléna na vozék' ".
Well, I have other 26 findings, but I think I'm going to stop the sharing here. I don't want to overwhelm you with tons of DVA insights.

doca:
@ken: daniel blumin played this track too, thought it was awesome. Maybe if I stick with WFMU I'll the whole album before I buy it.
Bah...my stupid VLC player stopped during "Rollercoaster" during JA's show and went into loop mode. It's been playing the same 20 seconds of howling wind sounds all this time. I thought it was normal WFMU programming.
This laptop is the whack. If I unplug the charger from the wall (or plug it back in at some point), it screws up the wireless connection somehow. Maybe half the time. Maybe I need to wear an ESD strap when I plug/unplug it?
“Maybe I need to wear an ESD strap when I plug/unplug it?” Probably badly grounded or badly designed. Shocked at how many devices in 2014 can’t handle the shift from line power to battery well.
Invention idea #468714B: Peanut butter and jelly dispenser. The top part is two holding tanks and then a pair of levers or pump handles to dispense the creamy goo onto your waiting bread. A variation on a soft ice cream machine.
peanut butter and jelly's overall obscurity level is...
98.7%

I like the idea, Ken From Hyde Park. I'll add a banana slicer (or small guillotine) on top of that. So you can have your peanut buttter sandwich a la Elvis.
For chunky peanut butter, a third chamber will loose chunks. That's like the toppings a the ice cream bar. Did I say loose chunks? That doesn't sound appetizing. The marketing team will have to find a more appealing term.
@Ken From HP: The legal team is afraid of lawsuits from people with nut allergies and the marketing team is grateful because the best they could come up with was "nut loosener."
I recently watched an Australian movie and it had a long ass neck turtle in it. I had never seen nor heard of these creatures. The neck is often as long as or longer than the body and shell. The neck and head can't be stuffed back inside the shell. It can only bend back and be wrapped along the front of the shell. The long ass necked turtle of Australia.

So I went to the interwebz to check what the heck is Chud.
And this is what I found:
"Chud or Chude is a term historically applied in the early Russian anals..."
I stopped reading there. I don't want to know anymore about Chud.
Animal House. My daughter recently said one of her teachers complained that she and some of the other kids were creating a "party animal atmosphere" in class.
so i figured it out! when i have the playlist and message board up my audio likes to "skip" and "Double" but when i "X" out of the playlist i can listen fine...any thoughts people???
Will somebody go through the show when it is over, and take the obscurity rating of every band I played and average it so I can have an average obscurity rating for the entire show, or would i have to sleep with dead people to make such a request?
Tonight on Gary Sullivan's Bodega Pop Live (7-10pm, on the Drummer Stream), all acts will be guaranteed at least 90% or your money back: bodegapop.blogspot.com...
"In the year 2525" always brings* to mind an old Mystery Science Theatre 3000 bit, probably the best mash-up of Criswell, James Brown, and Dr Bronner to date:
@Guido from Cologne:
The Mexican trumpets are there to make the piece seem even more severely dated, insofar as that were possible, than it would be otherwise---the group whose name Cooke and Moore canted into 'Al Pervert and His Marijuana Brass' (in their similarly dated 'L.S.Bumble-bee') are responsible....

I predict that the WFMU Marathon goal for 2525:
- Will try to raise $1,800 gazillions to buy the NJ land that will hold all the WFMU buildings and complexes.
- The final marathon show will be conducted by Andy Breckman's head in a jar.

Johannes Raggam:
hey ken, CODO's song is an sci fi parody, about the earth reigned by hate. someone from outer space is bringing love to earth (düse im sauseschritt translates roughly to hurry up). also see: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codo_%E2%80%A6_d%C3%BCse_im_Sauseschritt
... ridiculous children's language.
it was one of the most unbarable NDW cash-in rip-offs.
And if you have to hear it every day, you can get serious depressions.
For 2,000 Years the World has lived without love.
The Lord of Hate rules!
"Hateful (ugly), I am so hateful, so dreadful hateful, I am Hate.
Hating, hatefully hating, I just can't stop it -- I am Hate!"
"Attention, attention.
Unknown flying object approaching the planet."
"Identify unknown flying object."
"Codo the Third, I am the third one from the left out of the middle of the stars."
"Unknown flying object identifies as: 'Codo'"
"and I'm jetting, jetting, jetting, jetting damn fast
Bringing Love with me
from my part of the universe
because love, love, love, love is a lot of fun
way more fun
than anything"
... depending on age and perception maybe ...
NDW had a hopeful beginning with DIY ethics and denal of all rules. and it ended in such a cash-in-deaster. For a certain time it was hard to publish records in German language because everyone was so fed of it.
