Harlan Ellison and LRH apparently knew each other in that phase of their careers. The new-ish Burroughs biography (which is excellent) details how deeply Bill got sucked into the cult, to his social and artistic detriment, until he finally broke with them over LRH's dictatorial tendencies.

	2:16pm fred: I once a scientologist coworker, until they told him he couldn't work outside anymore. What puzzled me was how blatant a money grab it all is. They're pretty upfront about it, but it still works. That Nawa track was great, BTW
