Say hello to Fred. Okay, I will.6:09am : good afternoon, Jay.6:10am : its still morning here 11.10am6:13am : I don't think it's raining right now, but it could be. It's annoyingly warm (high fifties °F)6:17am : good morning all and a super fine new year with lots of music joy6:17am : Raining and grey, still too warm for the season.
Yesterday was sunny.
Sun on sunday. I will not complain.6:19am : in Rotterdam Netherlands is 12.17 pm and the sun is shining.
and the music is already very good6:20am : back atcha, Jeroen. Say hello to our group...6:29am : Good morning everyone, happy listening :)6:42am : If there wasn't the BBC-"needle-free-time", we'd miss something essential.6:42am : 8:42 pm and about 2 Celsius here in Nara, Japan. Lovely music as usual.6:43am : ...missed McKenna - but then I subscribe to Psychedelic Salon podcast - so got some of him to listen to...
- already a degreeF above Freezing my part of New Hampshuh @ 20 of 7 A.M. - w/ fog - & Freezing Rain (bad traveling) or such expected
- then Highs Below Freezing rest of week, if double digits - but not expected to have Lows Below 0°F...MidWest reportedly getting 'Polar Vortex' & records expected to be broken
...wondering how Australia's 120°F situation is going...6:45am : ...good job w/ the BeachBoys vocals Move...6:48am : Solar: is this today? or tomorrow? (Time continuum-wise)
RevRab: glad you're aboard.6:49am : Hiya, Frank, and good day, all. Rain, rain, rain here. Missed early good stuff, along for the rest of the ride now.6:50am : Afternoon, morning, evening, konbanwa and hi in every form to Frank and everyone!6:51am : nice to hear from you, mauri.

...Thank Gawd no serious Wind here w/ this Cold - that'd be deadly !6:54am : - & Sem - you're in Nova Scotia ?6:58am : RevRab: yes, indeed.
re: Weather down under: gov't has raised the top temp to 54C, 129F, because of, you know, the weather down there.
news.sky.com...7:02am : - goodgawd - the highest recorded temp anywhere is 134°F in Death Valley...7:02am : Can't get enough of Arthur, fxo.7:02am : KINKS7:15am : Only good things about our Mondey morning Web-Caster-Master!7:17am : in a word, "aw"! Thanks Guido.7:23am : hi frank you play naturally good music, or you have to work hard every week to work for such a good show7:23am : @ You Keep ON asking me,
Haunting and Anthem-esque.. what year was that?
Morning FXO and all!
(52 and still quite dark at 7:23 am in Bklyn :-07:26am : morning, 3d. The year, I think, was 2008.
Jeroen: again, "aw shucks".7:27am : ...all that Rights trouble w/ Mike Love - bah - Brian Wilson's better off touring like this !7:29am : - & Jeff Beck - if there'd been no Jimi - we'd probably be talking about *him* every day...7:32am : ...they gave Clapton an 'All-Around Best Guitarist' award - Eric said - 'I think you mean Jeff'...7:33am : Ah, Tx, Fxo,
Huh, seems much older.
I had just tuned in, and it fit the rather
ominous and looming climate outside :-)7:36am : here, in the Jersey City area, the fog has been like pea soup. Clearing up, though, but dank & damp-like.7:37am : From Beck and Brian to Viv and the Bonzos. All cylinders firing hot this morning, Frank. Thanks.7:44am : I think those "best guitarist"-lists and discussions are more irritatiing than helpful.
Who & what ist "the best"?
Where and why?
For instance:
Having no entry of Luiz Bonfa in the Rolling-Stone-best-guitarist-chart at all, makes that one ridiculous to me. They're all about Rock and Blues and Blues and rock and soul maybe flamenco and hardly any Latin. And so such a brilliant instrumentalsit is off the chart. It cannot work!7:48am : - exactly Guido: Lists are about who/what was left off.7:48am : Spotlight for Nicky Hokins! ;-)
Hard to tune theese exotic instruments. Hehe.7:49am : ... left off like Kevyn Ayers ...7:50am : ...& probably - I dunno - one in seven of the seven billion Homo Sapiens plays guitar anyhow...someday soon in Evolution after people are born speaking they'll be born playing guitar I reckon @ that statistical rate...
- then - on a grumpy day I'll say there are only about five real Guitarists - Django, Segovia, Hendrix...7:56am : Anther guitar hero right here on the webcast.
"Cinefantastique" (I have that one) is fantastique!
Guitars? Also there is evolution ...
Better talk aboud "cordophones".8:00am : Hi fxo and fans
I just took a list at the RS 100 greatest guitarists. I didn't know there was such a thing. Sonny Sharrock is not on the list but Joni Mitchell is. Says something. At least Hubert Sumlin made their team.8:01am : Rolling Stone 1oo greatest kazoo players?8:02am : 1oo greatest kazoo players !!!
*LOL*8:03am : ...I give RS credit for getting out every week (is it?) & getting it in the supermarket - & some real political reporting...it ain't Mojo. Who reads it?
...I nominate Jiimi there too - comb kazoo on 'Crosstown Traffic'...8:04am : Joni Mitchell anyway is influential thanks to her very obvious odd tunings.
But this is a good example:
what means "good guitarist"?
I quote Jimi:
"I'm the best guitarist sitting in this chair".8:05am : Happy New Ears, fxo.
From 'I'm Bored' This is boredom you can afford by Cyril Bored is take a off from an advert at the time (1967) from a carpet seller, it went 'This is luxury you can afford by Cyril Lord' You cannot have enough useless information.8:08am : hey duke. How 'bout leaving Blood Ulmer on any lists? Just sayin'.
Brian: "you cannot enough useless information". Check.8:08am : - Jimi said you can learn something from *any* other guitarist - like when Coltrane did the blind listening test in Downbeat (I think it was) & didn't rate anyone too low - that was their attitude...Jimi was almost weirdly humble in some ways - but some Masters are driven like that & never satisfied w/ what they can Manifest *already*...8:08am : We went to see F W Murnau's Nosferatu last year with live soundtrack from a six piece ensemble. T'was great. The blood suckers teeth were the front two like a rabbit not the molars as is the common practice these days.8:09am : - not about the Bonzos can't, Brian (cheers).8:11am : Have you seen "Shadow of the Vampire". Spooky, as well.8:15am : One of the aspects I definetly like about Jimi is his modesty.
He is beyond the minds of his fans I think.
Clapton was very very self-concerned in his heydays.
And he was the one to get the sheer horror from witnessing Jimi the first time.
Own fault.8:16am : Not seen that, fxo. I am not a big fan of horror, do not like paying money to be scared. I could not resist Nosferatu though.8:16am : good morning/afternoon...it's 50 in philly. gonna be 2 tonight. just sayin.8:18am : - opn the other hand - Clapton is almost too self-conscious - has held him back from really letting loose??...
- I saw Clubfoot Orchestra do music for 'Metropolis' - multi-media thing - very kewl...
- quite a range common...8:18am : not so much a horror movie, but Malkovich plays Murnau, and Willem Dafoe as the vampire.
Common, glad you're here...8:26am : Dafoe's charactor portayals ( short list)
Vampire... Jesus Christ..Green Goblin..etc,etc.. Interesting!
and now in "Einstien on the Beach " in Paris..8:27am : - I feel the same Brian - prefer SciFi
- but I relate to Weirdness - & the exploration of the Collective Subconscious - so get dragged in to Horror...I really like the book 'The Monster Show' about this.8:27am : !
Happy New Year Mr FXO
(o:8:28am : ...Malkovich, DeFoe - how bad can it be right...8:30am : back atcha, "I X Key!"8:33am : - Get to Werk dance !
...Thx for a Year of great A.M. assists Frank !!
- & hoping for another.
- Thx company All !...8:42am : happy new year rrn63!8:42am : to quote Dylan: Buckets of rain, where I sit.8:42am : thanks everyone for everything last year!8:44am : Gotta cut & run albeit brief. Best for 2014 everyone.8:47am : Heya, Frank. Just wanted to say that when I'm in your house, whatever you play is 5 by 5 with me. I already know what I like, I visit to find out what you like;)8:53am : yowza! Great feedback, gang. Hope this new year will be better than last.
