...myself - my only critique of Santana is there's not much variation over decades - but what he does is great - one of the most expressive & distinctive guitarists - I mean, c'mon! - & blended Rock & Latin really well - killer killer band! - you know - Hendrix wanted a bigger band, but didn't really manage to get it together...

Carlos was not my gateway drug. I was around a lot of latin music growing up, but never knew the artists. I liked the sound. I think there are many songs he does well. I'm not into some of the collaborations he has done.

- yes - for a lot of us white Rockers, Santana was the *only* Latin Music we knew @ all. So hard to believe *now* !!
- One thing that helped me was becoming interested in Vodoun & the African roots to Blues & Rock. Latin follows from that. Also - living in Santa Barbara in the sunshine, population 1/3rd Hispanic...
