Didn't get the chance to see Mr. Davis this year in Hamtown. I wish I could have been there. Maybe I'll venture to the far away land across the east river
Just discovered this show (via Public Radio iPhone app, but now subscribing to podcast elsewhere bc that keeps crashing). Anyway, this is a fantastic show, I'm really enjoying it. Thanks. One thing I like, but that you won't, is that your Public Radio app podcast, at least, is running several minutes long, so that it captures the beginning of "Thing With the Hook." I've actually gotten turned on to that great show, too, so I don't mind, but I thought you'd want to know. I think you might want to recalibrate the cutoff time for however you're capturing the show for podcasting. Anyway, keep it up! I'm loving the deep dives into obscure soul! (Though my absolute favorite thing I heard recently was probably Solomon Burke's "Cry to Me," which isn't obscure at all but oh-so-amazingly good, every time).
