A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

- & then your local CoverBand stars are maybe all full of attitude.
- Huh!
...Then again, if judged all Art/Music/ - Pop even by how nice the Artist was/is - have to jettison far too great a %age
...Let's face it: Art is *Better* than Life (&/or People) - that's why we give *it* all the time & attention - & try to avoid pain & jerks as much as possible...

- It seems clear Jimi really resented the obligation to do so later though - in his just 3&1/2 years of accelerated time...

So far, as of 11:53EST 27aug13, I have not seen this Cyrus performance and have no idea what twerkin' means. (If it was explained in previous comments, missed it. Late to the party today) ... Ignorance is such magnificent bliss.
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
- it's all a symptom of Media being taken over by Corporates w/ no Artistic Sensibilities
- sure people in the Biz have always wanted Hits & $Money
- but they had enuff sense to do so by making good stuff.
- & it's not just Music - *everything* is owned by one Corporation that's consolidated by yet a bigger Corporation - not by people who either know or care about that Product.
- Including our Government (bought & sold).
