Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from August 9, 2013 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

glenn, didn't hear anything back, but I presume you got Philo's and my email about Chris Hadfield? At least we didn't get a daemon failure on it.

And of course, Peggy eventually had to get kidnapped as the standard TV plot-by-numbers approach played out.

When NASA invited haiku to be shipped to Mars, an online news report about it brought a ton of offerings (although they were being offered there to the wrong place). I submitted one that merely considered the situation, rather than a real suggestion. It prompted a response that shows news-site commenters occasionally can do something other than dash all hope for humanity.

Me:

Must suit that brave stirring voice
Marvin the Martian

Guys, remember how earlier today, I mentioned that Sonny Boy Williamson version of the Fannie Mae song but under a different title? I mentioned that I heard it on a different radio show that I listen to on Friday afternoons. That show is or was called: "Bob's Scratchy Records". I just found out that the host of that show, Bob Reuter, died. It was definitly in the past 6 days, because he was doing his show last week.
