Having a weapon and a shield makes more types of parries possible and varies the type of attacks the competitors use. They hold their bodies differently than one would for fencing or for boxing.

I read in a review of it once that it was most suited to someone who is dying or going through a grave crisis. I picked it up while I thought I might have a horrible disease (bit of a hypochondriac here) and then when I found I was okay I put it down. But it is there for me as it is for everyone, a meaty literary journey.

I read in a review of it once that it was most suited to someone who is dying or going through a grave crisis. I picked it up while I thought I might have a horrible disease (bit of a hypochondriac here) and then when I found I was okay I put it down. But it is there for me as it is for everyone, a meaty literary journey.
