@doca: the JM in the AM / Long Rally transition has those two musics so associated in my mind that it's weird hearing one without the other, which happens every other weekday
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am
Scott McDowell:

My own kids think the JM song is "my" song!

One of my all time favorite shows was Rodan, '68 Comeback and Rocket from the Crypt in February 1994.
  10:14am
bill:

Holy cow tim, I well remember Rodan, Shorty and Shellac very soon after that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am
tim from champaign:

that sounds like a good one too, bill. In February and March 1994, I saw a string of pretty remarkable shows in a manner of 6 weeks. There was the above mentioned show, Sleep/Hawkwind, Blues Explosion/Faith Healers, and Laughing Hyenas/Don Caballero.

I'm hoping for an upset too but the absence of Gotze is pretty big for Dortmund.

hehehe, that made me hlaughj

I'm going with the majority. Bayern 3-1 Dortmund.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am

Bayern's is the best team. Man are they good. Total football. Another prediction: Arjen Robben will miss a penalty.
  10:28am

I predict Robben will collapse as if shot.

you are talking me around towards Dortmund.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am
tim from champaign:

RTD - About 20 years ago Hawkwind and Sleep toured together. It was pretty great. It was Nik Turner Hawkwind featuring Helios Creed on guitar. Pretty dang good.

On a side note, I saw Chrome last weekend. Helios Creed is a mess. His backing group was straight out of the Guitar Center School of Rock. Helios had difficulties tuning his guitar, starting songs, stopping songs mid way, and even playing a song that was Shout At The Devil riff for riff. Kinda sad.
  10:52am
common:

jason karkonis!!! hot snakes city!
  10:52am
RG:

I'm supporting Dortmund too (what neutral isn't?) but Bayern last beat them in February this year. In fact, of the last 4 games, Bayern won 2, and the other two were draws.

Bayern definitely favourites.
Avatar 10:53am
Cheri Pi:

THE SONG!!!!!!!!!
Avatar 10:54am

TFC, wow saw Helios a few years back and it was great. That's a shame.
Avatar 10:54am
jdelz:

Such a hit
Avatar 10:54am
Rev. Turnip Druid:

man, the Druid household is still deep in austerity measures. No fun at deathfest for the long-eared reverend.

Tim: I had heard something similar re: a recent Chrome show -- sadness abounds. But that Sleep/HW tour would've been a head-twister.
  10:54am
bill:

NYCTaper has a nice recording up of Parquet Courts from just a few weeks ago. includes a hot version of this song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am
tim from champaign:

Chris from DC - yeah, it was weird. I think Helios might have been on some shit or maybe had a stroke. This is just pure speculation. It seemed like his balance was off. unable to literlly focus on anything, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am
Scott McDowell:

RG, yeah I know Bayern heavy fave. Dortmund lost twice in their last 9 meetings with Bayern. And as I said, Bayern are the Buffalo Bills of the Champs. League.
Avatar 11:00am
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I'm still too hungover from Arsenal's win last week to have an opinion on the Germans. But it should be a fun match either way...
  11:01am
Marmalade Kitty:

Apparently, BorussiaDortmund are yet to lose a match or even concede a single goal in 60 years of European competition against fellow German opposition ..!
  11:01am
Tom G:

How cursed would Bayern feel if they lost AGAIN? I feel for them a little, but only a little, a very little. They were better than Inter and lost and they were better than Chelsea and lost.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am
Scott McDowell:

Just ask John Elway.
  11:09am
Tom G:

I wonder how many actual games that includes, Marmalade K? They haven't seen another German team this tournie.

BUT, they beat Madrid 3x and drew them once. So there's that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am
Scott McDowell:

Haha, I actually like Bayern. They are amazing. But y'know.
