That was CD1! This does not bode well.

Stay strong, Therese. Stay strong!

CD1 is clearly a freeform device. It brooks no demands. Expectations fase it not one whit.

Proper Welsh rock! I was looking at this record only a day or two ago and was sad I didn't make time to listen to it then.

There's just so much good on this album and the self-titled

EFD + Clay = Shenanigans!
Avatar 1:20am
Droll:

I can't help but notice Clay keeps getting into throwdowns with other DJs. He had one with Fabio, and now EFD... He's got the sweet, kind voice but he's obviously really about public bouts of pop.

BadGuyZero:

The Clay vs. Fabio DJ duels are the stuff of legend. Clay has charisma. Go watch him performing "We're An American Band" at the most recent Hoof & Mouth Sinfonia if you need evidence.
Avatar 1:32am
Droll:

BGZ, I was sold on Clay when I saw him do Freedom (R. Havens) solo at 2012's H&M. But let me tell you about my hero, Bryce! I soiled myself when he finally made it to drums.

That CD player needs a NO Post-It on the drawer.

Hey Therez (others might be tiring of this but I'm sure not you) I just moved to NYC but I still can't get FMU over air. Should I look elsewhere?
Avatar 1:37am

Clay chimed in about my Dano bass other night. What an hour. The guy is a real pro and nice too.

What an honor! Damn spellcheck or maybe it is the hour.

steve:

hey all! good time to not feel like going to bed.

KP - i can just barely get FMU in lower Manhattan and have never been able to pick it up anywhere else in the 5 boros... could be wrong but i was under the impression everyone not in Jersey or lower Update NY was listening online.

How does FMU sound on the radio waves in the LES?
Avatar 1:57am
KP:

I am in east village right near the river. Can't even tell it's on right station but in my car 11 stories below it's loud and clear.

Pretty tune. New CVB?
Avatar 2:13am

Indeed, InBrkly!
Avatar 2:13am
BadGuyZero:

I saw Camper Van Beethoven in the late 80s at a place called Bronco Bowl. It was a bowling alley that had a 1,500-seat theater in the back. I saw lots of great shows there [Echo & The Bunnymen; The Alarm; Love & Rockets; The Replacements; Ramones]. CVB refused to play "Take the Skinheads Bowling" because they thought it would be bad karma to play it in a bowling alley.

BadGuyZero:

Is amEdeo ok?
Avatar 2:17am
Therese:

It would have been a bit on the nose, BGZ.
Avatar 2:17am
InBrkly:

Bronco Bowl was converted to a Home Depot :(
Avatar 2:17am
Therese:

And Re: amEdeo- I think so, but I'm never sure...
Avatar 2:20am
BadGuyZero:

@Therese: None of us are. He's still a good egg, though.

@InBrkly: Vinnie and Darrel from Pantera bought the Bronco Bowl, made it look spiffy and proceeded to turn it into a douchebageteria. As much as I was sad to see it go it's time had passed.

Ike:

Steve and KP, some areas of NYC receive 91.1 well. E. side tends to be bad, and if you are too close to Empire & all its powerful transmissions, that's bad. Are you using an indoor dipole antenna?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27am
G:

Alternatively, an indoor stripper pole antenna might do the trick
Avatar 2:27am
Therese:

I defer to Ike on our NYC FM receptipn. When I listen at work, I usually listen online.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36am
Ike:

Yeah I listen online at work too since my job is way over on the east side. Sounds better over FM, IMHO. In most of Mnhtn & Bklyn you shouldn't have trouble if you use a real stereo with a dipole, not a clock radio and not a cheap portable radio. But the east side is lethal.

Does it come with a Raymond Scott doll? There was a set that came out a couple of years back that had a doll. I need to see if I can get my hands on one.
