G:

My gf was on a focus group for a commercial classic rock radio station a few years ago (not in NYC). They played literally 5 seconds or so of a song that everyone knows, and the members of the focus group have to click 1 ("I'd keep listening") or 2 ("I'd change the channel") for hundreds of songs in rapid succession. That's how they determine their playlists.

Bodahtron 9000:

My complex AI device has determined that the sounds you are causing to emanate through the internet are unique and kooky. A new subroutine recently programmed with the purpose of expanding my emotional and linguistic acuity presents to me the result that this radio show is adorably cuddly and that laughter is the appropriate response. Ha ha ha! However, my social context subroutines feed into my cognition circuit a notice that for your goal of $4000 to be reached, you must receive pledges amounting to $1800 in the next hour. As a result, a mere 10 pledges of $180 would achieve your result.

Is the Whistle an over or under utilized instrument? What says you, DJKG faithful???
  5:34pm
Mark in VT:

Well, I meant the DJ cart that Kurt has used loudly to annoy the next show. Maybe that feud is over. But cart machines are cool too.

@MinnJeff: what type of whistle?
  5:38pm
Minnesota Jeff:

The referee whistle.

kat330:

@MN Jeff: Well, there's a sort of interesting band local to me, Whistle Peak, from Louisville, Ky, that uses a whistle noise. Have you heard them?
  5:41pm
Caryn:

Hmm, I think it could be used more in certain types of songs.
