  4:01am
Julie:

Crank up your speakers guys
  4:12am
Matt from Springfield:

Morning Julie!
This song has a very 80s sound to it.
  4:16am
Julie:

I hope you guys can hear this..all the computers are messed up here, I had to resort to my laptop which won't get very loud
  4:17am
Matt from Springfield:

Oh no! But all the songs here I can tell are mixed very well :)
As long as their "proportions" are right, I can always make it louder on this end.
  4:18am
listener mark:

watch out for turntable two, the only one with a lid, to contain the evil spirts
  4:20am
Matt from Springfield:

That's right, Mark! I think until someone actually donates a turntable to the station, we're stuck with the possessed #2.
  4:27am
listener mark:

you are 5 X 5 in the Hudson Valley WMFU Mount Hope
  4:39am
Matt from Springfield:

VINYL!
How fortunate you discovered In Isolation, that was a good show.
  4:41am
helsingfred:

Hey julie and listener mark, it would be cool to see a photo set of the hardware in the studio (including turntable 2, possessed by evil demons)
  4:45am
helsingfred:

BTW this weekend I saw Anna Calvi. Capsule review: WOW! All the things that Roxy Music tried to say, but maybe couldn't quite get across, she delivers. Whole lotta soul. <3! My 0,02 €, YMMV.
  4:49am
Matt from Springfield:

Pretty Girls Make Graves, I like this band!
  4:50am
helsingfred:

Seconded! PGMG are excellent
  4:57am
:):

oh Julie, Julie.....
  4:58am
Julie:

mystery smiler..hello
  5:00am
:):

just thought the LAB song was too much for me.... :)

I know you like honesty
  5:03am
Julie:

Yeah pretty sweet for a dark angels comp
  5:07am
Matt from Springfield:

There's your Richard Hell, Blank Generation!
  5:08am
Julie:

That guy probably went to bed. I'd rather have played Blank Generation
  5:09am
listener mark:

Oh wow am I gonna pay for for this tomorrow at work
  5:15am
Matt from Springfield:

Was "Blank Generation" a band name? The first wave of punk was termed "The Blank Generation", seems a bit pretentious to "represent" all of them!
  5:20am
Matt from Springfield:

Oh YES!!!!
I love Kate's "Celtic-reggae" version of this!
Do you also have her "Candle In The Wind" cover?
  5:21am
:):

have you heard the new revamped-old-songs album?
  5:22am
listener mark:

Thanks, a good ride. ~~ Oh you know me so well, thanks again ~~ Kate Bush!
  5:22am
Julie:

Ah so that's what you call this. Candle is on the same CD. Yes :) I have. Played a couple tracks off it.
  5:22am
:):

she does celtic-reggae much much better than Sinead O'c, wouldn't you agree?
  5:24am
Matt from Springfield:

I wouldn't discount Sinead, she is a wonderful singer, though personally I think Kate does ANYTHING better than Sinead!
  5:26am
Matt from Springfield:

@Julie: I thought of it as "Celtic-reggae" the very first time I heard it, but apparently several others around the interwebs used the same term independently :)
  5:29am
:):

Julie, there's a couple of new Kate Bush interviews on the BBC:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00gtnyf
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b010vxyv
  5:35am
:):

completely off-topic. Suppose you recently dug in to the Beach Boys discography and have (finally) realised what a musical genious Brian Wilson is. Do you think it's worth seeing/hearing live?
  5:36am
:):

more like he and his band
  5:36am
Matt from Springfield:

Black Tape is already fantastic, but I love the symphony and arrangements of "Russia" in particular.
  5:36am
Julie:

I saw him on his Smile tour, he was fantastic, and I'm not a big fan.
  5:37am
Julie:

I am *trying* to get them to come in
  5:38am
Marmalade Kitty:

morning julie, Matt!
  5:38am
Julie:

Kitty!
  5:40am
Matt from Springfield:

@smiley: I saw Brian Wilson with my folks 5 years ago--he's lived his life tough, and doesn't come out regularly; but he's still got it--he played Beach Boys songs (with Al Jardine!) and then played the entire "Pet Sounds" album. His band harmonizes in the same places as the Beach Boys did. I highly rec if Brian goes on tour again!
  5:40am
:):

massive achievement if you do Julie. I reckon it's nearly impossible
  5:41am
Matt from Springfield:

Good morning M. Kitty!
@Julie: Black Tape is another ideal Dark Night live set--we appreciate all these guests you're getting or trying to get! You'll become the premier Late Late night live radio show!
  5:41am
Julie:

I love how he sits in front of a keyboard or holds a guitar and doesn't really play
  5:46am
Marmalade Kitty:

Toyah!
  5:46am
Matt from Springfield:

Oh sweet!!! Toyah promo!
Now all you need is the Honey Badger guy to give you one like Brian!
  5:49am
Matt from Springfield:

Walter! Preserve your memories, and the Village Green!
  5:50am
Matt from Springfield:

And Mono!
  5:52am
helsingfred:

If you're looking for French 60s girlpop...
  5:53am
Matt from Springfield:

Another one I first heard in a VW commercial--focusing on an office Everyman getting up each day, and hence I thought the lyric was "Mr. Blues Guy".
  5:53am
Julie:

There is no shortage of the Ye-Ye
  5:54am
Julie:

@Matt I remember that! It might have been first I heard it as well
  5:56am
:):

wasn't it in a christmas commercial as well?

such a lovelly song though...tears of happiness. (still about Mr.Blue Sky)
  5:57am
Matt from Springfield:

@Julie: Ah, that makes at least 3 for me ("Pink Moon" and "Da Da Da"). Where is that ad firm with such great taste nowadays? :)
I loved the sound of this though, and remains one of my fav ELO songs. Such a Beatles sound to it (I later realized it reminds me of "Martha My Dear", take a listen and compare!)
  5:58am
Matt from Springfield:

@MKitty: Liverpool had such happy songs about its locales from The Beatles--does Manchester have any fond songs about its locales, like its own "Penny Lane"?
  5:59am
listener mark:

Thanks Julie !
  6:00am
Marmalade Kitty:

ear what you mean, martha and mr blue.. Manchester, no, just misery! :)
  6:00am
helsingfred:

Thanks again !
  6:00am
Matt from Springfield:

Thanks Julie! Look forward to the next Purple Turtle set!
Have a great Tuesday everyone!
  6:01am
Matt from Springfield:

@MKitty: That's too bad! Strangeways, here we come! :)
  2:06pm
Van:

Fabulous show as always Julie!
