Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

Listener comments!

  3:05am
Jay:

morning from London great START !!!!
  3:05am
Julie:

Hello London! Quite the London fog here tonight!
  3:07am
Jay:

we do not get fog here much anymore its gona be 61f with sun today
maybe we gave you the fog
  3:09am
Julie:

Well, it's atmospheric at any rate. And yes, it's true, last couple times I was in London there was a lot of sun! One of my favorite places in the world, London.
  3:10am
Jay:

as long as you don't play foggy music it will be fine this morning
  3:10am
Julie:

Hmmm, have you heard my show before? I dig the foggy tunes
  3:13am
Jay:

no i have listened to wfmu for many years am getting ready for work but had enough of the news so here i am so much better to listen to wfmu with no news and very good music :) .. and no first time i catch your show
  3:15am
jerk:

Am I hearing Boston on wfmu right now or am I getting interference with some dino rock station?
  3:16am
Julie:

Nope. That's me.
  3:16am
RobotBoy:

It's called dad rock, man, and it's good!
  3:17am
Jay:

nothing wrong with a bit of boston
  3:17am
Julie:

I'm just enjoying staring at the album cover
  3:19am
RobotBoy:

I recently picked up the debut Boston album actually. Kind of disappointed, the radio hits were easily the best songs. Eight song albums should be tighter than that.
  3:19am
Jay:

are you getting all misty over it Julie
  3:20am
Julie:

@Robot Ah, this one isn't the first one? The self-title part fooled me.
@Jay No, it's more trippy than that. But I do know the cover so well from my sister's record
  3:23am
RobotBoy:

The self-titled is the debut.
  3:24am
Julie:

Oh, I see, the other cuts didn't live up to the first song. Too bad.
  3:31am
tinydiva:

That last track by Black Tape For A Blue Girl is the most hilarious song ever!
