Hey Evan! Honest to gosh, there are few things in this world better than a couple Japanese women who can't really speak English singing "I thought the major was a lady suffragette."

Danne D:

G'night Amanda :) Sweet and funky dreams to you :)
  12:06am
efd:

thanks Danne, and thanks and goodnight Amanda! From the pics I saw it looks like the cruise was a blast, but I had a great time in Baltimore so I'd say it was a win-win!

Wow--I never realized how much Ira Kaplan can sound like Robert Plant

  12:28am
Danne D:

2 weeeks left in the efd A Happy How Do You To You fantasy baseball league. Gonna take a miracle for me to catch Ubergoober at this point.
Standings as of this moment:
1) Ubergoober 143.5
2) Barre Ks (me) 136.0
3) paul chain 126.0
4) VanCortlandtRangers 115.0
5) UrbanSpacemen 113.5
6) Lo-Fis 111.5 (they have had a kick-ass 2nd half)
7) Shaolin Monks 96.0
8) Sad Trombones 94.0
9) MrToughs 92.0
10) Babybunting 91.5 - Aharon's team. Btw congrats to Jorge Posada on being the last remaining 'bunting from the start of the year.
11) The Bill Leefds (efd) 73.0
12) Frozen Dopes 56.0
  12:30am
Joe:

I am making a quick appearance to state that I very much like the new Vivian Girls CD. And to call all the people complaining about it "hipster douchebags". That is all.
  12:32am
Joshua K:

This music is allowing me to rock out at the office all night!! Party time in a cubicle.
  12:33am
john:

Thanks for the sixth place props, Danne, and good luck in the last couple weeks of the season! If only my first half had been anything like the second...
  12:34am
Primitive Sound System:

Wow! just tuned in and looked at the playlist. I am pulling records for tomorrow night on $mall ¢hanges show and I literally was holding the Oohio Express - "Roll It Up" in my hand. CRAZY! Love that song.
  12:36am
Danne D:

The props are well earned john - it's been fun to watch your team make its climb. I think Aharon's going to make the magic 150 transaction mark by the end of the year :o)
  12:40am
osvi:

Evan, thanks for the TV Ghost, wish I could fly out to see them and Pissed Jeans. What a show!
  12:43am
john:

It's all about Ubaldo Jimenez. I was actually hoping Aharon would manage to score every single major leaguer on his team for at least one game. Aharon, if you're there, you're more than welcome to Johan Santana (for whom I traded Mark Reynolds about a week before Johan went down for the season).
  12:45am
Danne D:

lol, john. I might have to look back through the transactions and see if he's had at least one guy from every major league team - that would be quite an accomplishment in and of itself :)
  12:54am
efd:

osvi, glad I could bring some of the WFMU Fest to you!
PSS, love when those coincidences happen - very WFMUish!
  12:57am
john:

Hours.
  12:58am
A:

The German=24 hours
Didn't quite hear what the 2nd phrase was, but I think it might have been "The knowledge of ladies"
  12:58am
Danne D:

couldn't help myself. Based on my ersatz counting, Aharon (babybunting) has had at least one player from 29 of the 30 major league teams (only Tampa Bay is missing). He's had a position player from every team but Tampa Bay and Houston and a pitcher from 23 different teams (missing Mets, Wash, SF, Col, TB, Balt, Sea). Here's everyone he's had this year in it's epic glory:
http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/288942/teamlog?mid=3
  12:59am
john:

Wisdom grows on trees (I think).
  12:59am
A:

Oh wait, that's not it at all. It's actually "knowledge grows on trees." Sheesh.
  1:06am
efd:

Danne, thanks for the baseball update - I have to admit that I haven't checked in for a couple of weeks, once it became obvious that I was consigned to 11th place. I need to go back and check my draft picks to see where I went wrong (although I think I had a disproportionate number of busts - Jimmy Rollins [in the first half] and Chipper Jones come to mind, for starters).
  1:07am
efd:

thanks A and John for the translation help!
  1:07am
A:

John--the sheesh was for me and my ears, not for you and your translation.
  1:08am
A:

And EFD, thank you for Jimmy Rollins.
  1:09am
A:

Hey Danne (et al.) was just scrolling up through the comments, and let me assure you: the season ain't over yet! Pat Burrell here I come.
  1:09am
efd:

ohhhh, it's *you!*
  1:09am
john:

A--no harm no foul (I assumed it wasn't). Danne--awesome research! EFD--would you care to pick up Johan on waivers?
  1:15am
A:

Danne (if you're still on): you are the Bill James of late night. And someone on here is for certain the Rick James.
  1:16am
Danne D:

Yeah the Team Log section is neat that way.
And hey A - didn't realize you were the famous Aharon :)

Btw, to further highlight A's accomplishment I have used position players from a meager 19 teams and pitchers from only 14.

Aharon's made 137 moves. John and efd are tied for second with 36.
  1:20am
Danne D:

Carol sounded really excited to talk to Harry!
  1:20am
Danne D:

Somalia...Haiti...Afghanistan...
  1:20am
efd:

has anyone here ever heard of The Jones Boys before?! I haven't...
  1:21am
Danne D:

Jonesy's forefathers?
  1:24am
Danne D:

  1:25am
Danne D:

Looks like 1966, efd.

  1:25am
(the famous?) A:

"Can probably guarantee" is the best sell ever, Harry.
  1:28am
Danne D:

Why the Jones Boys made me think of Steel Breeze is beyond me but this is one of the more pitiful fan sites I've seen: http://www.geocities.com/sdgaynor/

There's a message board message from '04 about a reunion which has like 7 replies to it. The funniest being the last one which is from this year plaintively asking if a reunion was still possible.
  1:30am
Danne D:

Barr-ee Kays :D
  1:32am
Danne D:

Thanks for the league shout-out efd :)
It's been fun.
  1:37am
Danne D:

Sleepy time for me. Have a great night everyone! Thanks for another fabulous show, Evan!
  1:38am
efd:

thanks Danne, goodnight!
  1:57am
gary:

Another stellar show EFD! FYI Ohio Express Mercy/Roll It Up was released on Buddah in 1969. A fabulous Kasenetz-Katz production!
