Wes, you might consider purchasing an "already cooked" bird, completely natural and without any fuss. That's what we do every year. Google search for a "Norbest" smoked turkey, and get it. You'd be quite surprised. Sure, they're expensive (they start at $35) but like I said, they're 100% natural just heat and serve. Delicious! We don't cook 'em anymore. Saves a LOT of time we can devote to doing other things before the bed gets covered with coats.

(mta) Tony:
Wes, have you heard Red Sovine's classic, "Teddy Bear?" It made millions cry!
2:14pm
pat:
Jeeze, part of the fun of T-day is standing around the kitchen, or around the smoker outside drinking beers and waiting for the bird to get done. The longer the cooking time, the better. My brother starts smoking the turkey at 10am and has his first beer at 10:05am.

As long as he's not smoking his college degree! (that'll really get you off)...

mta Tony: every weekend. here locally there is a high school radio station that has a great rockabilly/old country/blues program line-up. On Sundays they have a fantastic rockabilly show that always includes a drinkin' and truck drivin' set or two.
Thanx Wes. I went to the web site and can you believe that a Search for Red Sovine's music turned up NO RESULTS! Try it yourself. So maybe they have never played the Teddy Bear song. Too bad, as it's a real truck drivin' classic.
2:33pm
(mta) Tony:
Oh, I see, my mistake; they don't keep playlists.
2:41pm
Wes:
Sorry Tony, you're right, they don't really keep the site updated with any info. The guy TJ the DJ has a myspace space, but either way I guarantee you they play that song, and the one about Elvis coming to the hospital room.
