Did you ever watch "The Vicar of Dibley"? I was just thinking the other day about its parallels to "Green Acres".

"David Horton" grew up in the village, unlike motivated transplant "Oliver Wendell Douglas"; but they both expect their village to be a certain way, and are befuddled by the nonsense of the rural villagers. Whereas "Rev. Geraldine" and "Lisa" are outsiders, but who totally get the quirks and unique Zen of the villagers.
