When my wife and I were hunting for rentals in Berkeley about 15 years ago, we landed on a duplex near where we now live. The landlord was a young-ish guy who, it turns out, had attended college with my wife at a school with a strong music conservatory. We got to talking, and he informed us that he had studied with Richard Davis. Woulda been a cool landlord, but the space wouldn't have accommodated the record collection.

Dang... I just love Richard Davis. Was super happy to find a copy of Dealin' when I was in Detroit this summer.
